Today marks 4 years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began (24/02/2022 - 24/02/2026).

Four years of air raids, loss, displacement, and unimaginable pressure - but also four years of courage, resilience, and people refusing to give up the freedom of Ukraine.

From Huddersfield, we remember everyone who has been killed, injured, forced from their homes, or is still living under constant threat. We stand with Ukraine - today and every day.

And we keep doing what we can: collecting, packing, and delivering essential humanitarian aid directly to the people and institutions that need it most.

🚛🇺🇦 Truck Loaded & On Its Way to Ukraine

On Saturday we loaded the truck, and it has set off for Ukraine packed with essential aid.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen; to all our donors, packers, and loaders. Because of you, vital supplies are on their way to the people and places that need them most.

And because we clearly don’t know how to sit still…😅...we’ve already started accepting donations and packing again for the next run.

New Year. Same Mission. Ukraine Still Needs Us. 🇺🇦

The New Year is here and our team is back, organised, and ready to start collecting humanitarian aid again. The need in Ukraine hasn’t stopped, and neither have we. If you’re able to donate, we’d be incredibly grateful for any of the items listed below.

🇺🇦 Current needs:

For injured soldiers in hospitals:
• Vitamins
• Pyjamas
• Hygiene products
• Underwear
• Breakfast bars & individually wrapped sweets
• Power banks
• Cold & flu treatments
• Pain relief medication

For children:
• Nappies
• Vitamins
• Knitted items
• Food

For the elderly:
• Incontinence pants and pads

For everyone:
• Blankets
• Warm winter coats
• Sleeping bags
• Winter boots
• Sheets and bedding

We carefully wash, clean and sort all donated items, but where possible, we kindly ask for new items or items that are clean and nearly new, as this helps us get aid to people more quickly and with dignity.

Every single donation helps and goes directly to those who need it most.

Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated and help us purchase essential supplies, including medicine, where it’s most urgently needed.

As the year comes to a close, we want to simply say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who donated money or items.
Thank you to the volunteers who gave up their time.
Thank you to the knitting groups, loaders, organisers, fundraisers and supporters who helped make it all possible this year.

Because of you, humanitarian aid from Huddersfield has continued to reach Ukraine, bringing help, warmth and hope to people living through war.

We’re taking a short Christmas break, but we’ll be back in the New Year.

Our amazing team braved the weather this weekend and raised a fantastic amount at the Mirfield Christmas Fair! 🇺🇦❤️

🎄🎉 CHRISTMAS FAIR FUN – THIS WEEKEND!

We’re excited to be taking part in the Mirfield Community Centre Christmas Fair on Sunday 23 November 2025, 10am to 3pm.

We have a large space for games, activities and lots of Christmas gifts for sale!

It includes:

🎁 Handmade Gifts
… and plenty more games and goodies on our stalls!

Wrap up warm, bring the kids (yes, even the ones glued to their phones 😄), and enjoy a proper community Christmas event filled with festive cheer.

🚛🇺🇦 The Van is Loaded and on its Way to Ukraine! 🇺🇦🚛

This weekend, our latest load of vital humanitarian aid is setting off from Huddersfield, bound for communities in desperate need across Ukraine.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, packed, sorted, lifted, and helped in any way. Your generosity and kindness continue to make a real difference on the ground.

A special thank you also goes to Cllr Tim Bamford, who has always stood by us, and to Kim Leadbeater MBE, whose recent support is both welcomed and appreciated.

Having local councillors supporting our work means a lot, their voices and positions can help make that extra difference when it comes to raising awareness and securing support.

Together, we are showing that Huddersfield stands with Ukraine. 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦

A proud and moving day for our group.

We joined the ceremony at the Sikh War Memorial in Greenhead Park to honour the fallen Sikh soldiers, then walked together to the Greenhead Cenotaph with veterans and dignitaries to pay our respects to all those lost in conflict.

A touching moment came as our volunteer Graham Wilton and his son James, who gave his life defending Ukraine, were remembered in the prayers.

Remembrance Sunday 🇬🇧

Today we remember those from the UK and across the Commonwealth who gave their lives in war. Their sacrifice shaped the peace we’ve known for generations.

As we reflect, our thoughts are also with the people of Ukraine, where war is still a daily reality.
