It’s beyond words when we receive pictures, videos and messages about the impact and reach our work continues to have on the young people of Yorkshire.

As we’ve said before, it was always our vision to send young people away, to provide experiences, escapism, and anything else they might want.

We will never tire of seeing these images, and our most recent batch from our Leeds’ patients visit to Flynne’s Barn just energises us to keep on fundraising to ensure even more visitors can go again next year!

Thanks to Diane and the wider Leeds team for ensuring their trip was a memorable one ⭐️❤️⭐️

Welcome to the world, Stevo.

Amazing morning down in Poole to officially christen Stevo with Liv and the Just Row With It team.

What felt like a dream very much feels like a reality now seeing him on the water. The magnitude of this challenge is utterly mind blowing, but we’re so excited to be a part of it all!

Incredibly proud moment.

Words will never fully describe the size of the task we undertook in 2025, it was a beast bigger than we ever imagined.

But ‘21 for 21’ truly changed the face of A Shining Light forever and we’re so delighted to have the year recognised at the HEY Charity Awards ⭐️❤️🏆

A huge well done to Lydia, our final runner of 2026, who absolutely smashed the Leeds Marathon on Sunday.

Those of you who have been following us for a little while will know Lydia and how she and her wonderful family have supported us over the last couple of years.

Lydia has raised over £3200 so far, just incredible, and we know her beloved husband Kieran would be just so proud of her, as we all are. What a woman ⭐️❤️⭐️

You may remember a few weeks ago we were very proud to be able to fund a Cancer WTF!? Weekend in Harrogate for more than 40 young people.

These events are a vital lifeline for young people, whether they’re starting their cancer journey or coming out of the other side, it’s a chance to connect with people who truly know what they’re experiencing.

Being able to share these images with you all and show the power of the work we do, often behind the scenes, is a genuine privilege.

And crucially, these types of events simply cannot go ahead without your support, so we thank you for enabling us to get involved with such inspiring projects ❤️

This weekend sees the final runner in what has been a hectic few weeks of races take to the streets.

Last but by no means least is the incredible Lydia Turner, running the Leeds marathon in memory of her loving husband Kieran and in the name of our cause.

Lydia and her family have been amazing supporters of our charity in recent years and she has already clocked up over £2,800 in sponsorship for tomorrow’s race.

We’ll be supporting her every step of the way, and there’s still time for your to show her some encouragement too - follow the link below.

You’ve got this, Lydia!
