Yesterday was quite the milestone for us.

Back in April we took the decision to finally register A Shining Light as a charity in its own right. It’s something we’ve toyed with for a long time, but ultimately it’s right for us now and it means we have ultimate control about where our money is spent and the difference it will make to the lives of the young people we support.

It’s been an effort to get this over the line, but we’re excited to start the next chapter now and continue to grow and develop as an officially registered charity ⭐️❤️⭐️

Congratulations to Ryan who has been announced as one of the four finalists in this year’s BBC Make A Difference Awards in the Fundraiser category.

We’re keeping everything crossed for the finals on September 23!

Welcome to the ultimate New Year’s Eve party!

This year we’re closing out 2026 in style and we want you to join us. Under the beautiful setting of The Oaks Golf Club & Spa, we’re bringing you a night of incredible entertainment. Hot from Elvis Week in Memphis, we have the three-time runner-up of the Elvis Ultimate Finals, the legend Louis Brown. He will be following by an amazing Elvis afterparty taking you through to midnight and beyond with our DJ.

Tickets are priced at £65 per person and that price also includes a grazing table buffet. All profits will be donated to A Shining Light.

Doors are at 7.15pm with the main event starting at 7.30pm – close is at 12.30am. We strongly advise the pre-booking of taxis.

An absolutely fabulous day out on course yesterday for our second ever golf day at The Oaks Golf Club & Spa.

A huge thanks to everyone who took part - our entries this year doubled those of 2025 - and we’re delighted to announce that we raised over £1,500.

Congratulations to all the prize winners and of course the overall winners too, and a special thanks to Luke’s friend Jake for giving up his time to help with our Beat the Pro Challenge too.

And thank you to the venue for taking such good care of us again too.

We’ll see you on August 13 next year!

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we have reached our target of £3,000 in support of Just Row With It

This particularly project has been really close to our hearts, not just because of Liv and Luke’s connection, but because of the amazing efforts of all the students at Howden School and the local community have who have supported us on this mission.

This money will be used to sponsor the team’s oars which will eventually make their way back to the school to be displayed as a symbol of the team’s epic achievement.

We’ll be keeping our ears close to the airwaves next month to discover whether we’ve made it to the finals or not!

Last week were absolutely delighted to be invited back to the Siemens cricket day at Goole Town Cricket Club.

In another act of incredibly generosity we once again received an unbelievable £4,000 donation to support our work with young people across the region.
