This week, our team has been in school supporting the staff at Blatchington Mill with their Summer School programme for the new Year 7 cohort.

It has been fantastic to meet over 200 students each day, helping them become familiar with their new surroundings and settle into school life. We have already seen new connections being made and friendships beginning to form, which is always wonderful to witness.

Alongside this, we've also been busy updating our school notice board in preparation for the Open Evening in September.

We look forward to welcoming many more students and families in the coming weeks and wish all our new Year 7s the very best as they get ready to start this exciting new chapter. 😊

With the long spell of hot weather continuing, many of our Antifreeze clients are finding it difficult to access basic summer essentials. Right now, the items most urgently needed are:

• Deodorant
• T-shirts (Sizes S & M)
• Joggers (All sizes)
• Shorts (All sizes)
• Trainers/Walking Shoes (Sizes 9/9.5 and 10/10.5)

If you're having a clear out at home, or are able to pick up an extra item while shopping, your support could make a real difference to someone facing hardship this summer.

What a fantastic evening! ☀️🏐

We were delighted to bring together seven local businesses (+ many raffle sponsors!) for an afternoon of friendly volleyball, great conversations, and community spirit, all in support of making a positive local impact.

Not only were some impressive volleyball skills on display, but new connections were made and together we raised an incredible £6,000+ for our poverty-tackling mission! 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated raffle prizes, bought raffle tickets, and helped make the event such a success.

We love partnering with local churches to support children and families in our community.

Recently, Bishop Hannington Memorial Church hosted a special week of prayer, and one of our wonderful school team volunteers helped set up the children's prayer zone using some of the resources we've been using in our weekly Primary School prayer spaces this term.

It's always encouraging to see these resources being used in different settings, helping children explore prayer in creative and meaningful ways. We're grateful for opportunities to work together and support what God is doing across our local community. 💛🙏

It may have taken a few tries, but our Gateway gardening group didn't give up! With patience, teamwork and a lot of determination, they finally conquered a rather complicated compost bin. Now it's ready to produce nutrient-rich compost for the garden. A fantastic effort from everyone involved. Many hands really do make light work! 👏

It’s always a joy for our Schools Team to run a weekly Prayer Space at St Andrew’s School. This term, we’ve been exploring the Fruit of the Spirit, encouraging pupils to reflect on values such as love, joy, peace, kindness and self-control through creative prayer activities.

We were delighted to see that some of the pupils’ prayers were chosen by our school staff link to be displayed on the Faith Council board in the school corridor. It’s wonderful to see young people engaging thoughtfully with their faith and sharing their reflections with the wider school community.

Thank you to everyone at St Andrew’s for making these sessions such a special part of school life. 💛

Last week, 15 of our Gateway women enjoyed a wonderful day at Wakehurst Gardens, taking a break from everyday challenges to relax, recharge and enjoy the beauty of nature. 🌼☀️

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Homity Trust for making this special day possible. Your generosity helped create lasting memories and gave our Gateway women the chance to enjoy a positive and uplifting experience together.
