📚💜 Every girl deserves a childhood, an education and the freedom to choose her future.

Today, 11 October, we mark International Day of the Girl Child under the 2026 theme: “End child marriage and invest in girls’ rights”.

Our blog explores how poverty, gender inequality and limited access to education contribute to early child marriage in The Gambia. For many girls, marriage means leaving school, losing opportunities and facing risks to their health and safety.

Keeping girls in school is a vital part of preventing child marriage. Education builds confidence, independence and the knowledge to make informed choices.

At SaGG Foundation, we support girls in The Gambia through school fees, uniforms, books and mentoring. This year’s theme speaks directly to our purpose: protecting girls’ futures by investing in their education.

Read and share our blog. Help us raise awareness and stand up for every girl’s right to learn and thrive. 🌍

She was almost denied the right to choose her own future. Today, she’s using her voice to help protect the futures of other girls. 🌍

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio shares her powerful journey — from facing forced marriage to finding her voice and becoming an advocate for girls’ rights.

And now, that advocacy is helping move the global fight against child marriage forward.

27 November is now a global day of action to End Child Marriage.

One voice can start a conversation. Together, we can create change. đź’›

đź’› She has the talent. She has the ambition. She just needs ÂŁ10 a month.

Meet Sohna, a bright and dedicated student from Nairobi who loves science and maths. Despite financial challenges, she continues to show up, work hard, and dream about what her future could look like.

But without support, staying in school isn’t guaranteed.

For £10 a month, you can help Sohna complete high school and keep moving towards the future she’s working so hard for.

Sometimes, changing a girl’s future starts with something as simple as £10.

Will you be the reason Sohna stays in the classroom? đź’«

đź’› What if ÂŁ20 a month could keep an 8-year-old girl in school?

Meet Laliya. She’s in first grade, full of potential, and deserves the chance to keep learning.

But with no stable income in her household, simply staying in school isn’t guaranteed.

ÂŁ20 a month can help change that.
It can help cover the costs that stand between Laliya and her classroom — and give her the opportunity to keep learning, growing and dreaming about what comes next.

Kinda chic to be the reason a girl gets to stay in school. ✨

Imagine what we could achieve if every follower gave just ÂŁ10.

One small contribution can become something much bigger when we do it together.
Together, we could help provide sanitary support for thousands of girls, school supplies for hundreds more, and support towards school fees, meals, uniforms and transportation.

Because when enough people give a little, girls gain the opportunity to learn, dream and build brighter futures.

This back-to-school season, be part of the ripple. Send a girl back to school.

What if Fanta never had the chance to go to school?❤️

Without educational sponsorship, she may never have had the opportunity to enter a classroom.

Her journey shows us that circumstances do not have to determine a girl’s future. With the right support, potential can become possibility.
