Announcement: Houghton le Spring & District Round Table No. 589 has now closed.

At the Annual General Meeting of 26/04/2016 current members of Houghton le Spring and District Round Table were joined by many past members.

Houghton Round Table has been an active part of the Houghton Community for 58 years, and the decision to close was not taking lightly but a shortage of members of the appropriate age as laid down by National Round Table Rules (aged 18-45) it was felt that they few members remaining could not feasible continue the organisation as is.

We have arranged with Houghton le Spring 41 Club (The Club for former Round Tablers) for them to run this years Beer Festival as we have announced previously. It seems likely that they will also try to keep alive our other fund raising events, the Santa Sleigh, the 5th November Fireworks and the Houghton Feast Carnival parade. But of course that is ultimately up to them to decide.
