Run Barns Green this year was able to donate ยฃ30,000 to local organisations and charities as a result of a record-breaking event just a month ago. These donations are to groups that assist us for the event and they cover all ages and multiple sports groups, so they support the whole local community from pre-school to the more mature of us! We donated ยฃ2500 to the committee working to save the field opposite the Queens Head pub from development and ยฃ5000 to St Catherine's Hospice.
Like many events post Covid, we did go through a period of struggle in late 2023 but with the 2024 and 2025 races, we established new contracts with suppliers, increased our sponsorship levels significantly and through our reputation increased race numbers.
Today we have also received recognition from
Racecheck of our Gold award for the 2025 based on runnersโ reviews, rating us with a 4.86 score out of 5 which puts our event as the 10th highest rated event in the UK, and most importantly 2nd in non-profit/volunteer ran events.
None of this yearโs success would be possible without the continued support of the village and surrounding area who once a year allow us to run this award winning event. We are also grateful to all the local businesses and schools who support us and allow the race to run through their grounds.
We are taking a little break now, but we are already looking at areas for improvement in 2026!
