🌈 Street Nameplate Replacement
During the COVID-19 lockdown, several street nameplates in the parish were painted in rainbow colours as a way of showing support and appreciation for key workers. These have been a visible and meaningful symbol for many in our community.
Over time, however, some of these signs – along with others across the parish – have become faded or their posts have deteriorated and now require replacement. The faded signs are also difficult for the emergency services, delivery drivers and visitors to the village to read.
Broadland District Council has asked the Parish Council to consult with residents before any changes are made, particularly given the significance of the rainbow nameplates.
We would therefore really welcome your views:
πŸ‘‰ Should the rainbow nameplates be replaced with standard street signage?
πŸ‘‰ Would you prefer them to be left as they are?
πŸ‘‰ Do you have any other sensible suggestions?
Please share your thoughts in the comments below, or contact the Parish Council directly by email to [email protected]
We will also be seeking feedback through noticeboards and other local communications to ensure as many residents as possible can have their say.
Your feedback will help inform the approach taken and will be shared with Broadland District Council as part of the decision-making process.
Thank you for helping us represent the views of our community.

UPDATE

This work has been delayed for the time being.

Road closure to facilitate carriageway repairs at the northern roundabout, 14th to 16th April.
The Parish Council has been assured by Highways that the bus gate will be switched off and the signs bagged whilst these works take place so that residents from Flagcutters Way and Green Lane can access Holt Road to go towards Norwich.
