Hornsea Inshore rescue were thrilled to welcome Porsche Club Great Britain Yorkshire Region to the lifeboat station yesterday for a visit, educational talk and fish and ship lunch. The cars looked wonderful parked together in the car park and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time, with a very generous amount of money raised for our charity.

We look forward to seeing more of the club in the future.

This coming saturday, 22/08/26, Hornsea Inshore Rescue are looking forward to welcoming Porsche Club Great Britain Yorkshire region to our station for a fundraising event, who are currently supporting, and raising funds for us. They'll recieve an educational talk and a tour of our station, before enjoying some local fish and chip lunches.

This event is closed to the public, however the cars will be taking pride of place in our boat launch car park, and will be a wonderful sight for any car enthusiasts in the area.

Thank you!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Kate Spencer-Payne who set up this fundraiser for us after the tragic event that took place about a week ago, and to every single person who donated to it. It raised a brilliant £585 and every single penny will go directly into the charities funds helping us continue being operational. And all the money will be used in the memory of the young boy who was sadly lost.

Thank you for everyone's continued support, and also for the kind words and messages of support we've recieved since that night. We couldn't do what we do without you all.

🚨Call out🚨 10/08/26 1509

Today, Hornsea Inshore Rescue were tasked to reports of a person cut off by the tide just south of Mappleton.

Our boat launched within minutes of the pagers sounding and made best speed towards the casualties location.

The casualty was quickly located, helped by the fact the casualty was wearing a high visibility jacket.

Our Coxswain made an assesment of the conditions and decided the best way to proceed was an extraction to the boat.

Two crew were put ashore, and the casualties welfare was assessed and was found to be fit and well with no injuries, so the casualty was put in a life jacket and walked to the boat to be helped on by the remaining crew.

The two crew that went ashore then reimbarked onto the boat, bringing the casualties pushbike aboard with them.

A safe passage was made back to the lifeboat station and a good recovery into our waiting trailer.

The casualty was again assessed, found to be fit and well and happy to be back on dry land.

The boat was then washed down, refueled and made ready for service once more.

Today, Hirbi bear entered into the world mascot championship at the Withernsea blue light weekend. After completing the grueling challenges, we're excited to say Hirbi took the top honours, winning the competition and recieving a wonderful £250 for Hornsea Inshore Rescue and the much converted winners trophy. There was no time to paws and celebrate though as he needed to get straight back to the station. He did tell us though he could hardly bear the excitement.

🚨Call out 04/08/26 1821🚨

Yesterday, Hornsea Inshore Rescue were tasked by Humber Coastguard to assist in a multi agency search for a missing person who had got into difficulty in the water.

Our lifeboat, Spirit of Hornsea, launched on service and began conducting search patterns as instructed. After approximately 3 hours of searching, we recovered our boat for a refuel and a crew change, and re-launched within a few minutes. We continued searching into the early hours of the morning, working alongside RNLI Bridlington Lifeboats , Humberside Police and Humber Coastguard as well as Rescue 912 coastguard helicoper and fixed wing plane. Due to the loss of daylight and visibility, the search was stood down in the early hours of the morning. A total of approximately 7 hours had been spent searching on the water. The boat was washed down and refueled and made ready for service.

Our crew returned to station at 0430 05/08/26 with intention of launching back on service to help once again with search efforts, however on contacting the Coastguard we was advised that we were not required as sadly, the missing person had been located 10 minutes prior.

Everyone at Hornsea Inshore Rescue would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends and all concerned with this tragic incident, and everyone very much remains in all of our thoughts at this sad and difficult time.

We'd also like to say thank you to Hornsea Tesco who kindly sent down donations of food and water for everyone involved in the search.

Hornsea inshore rescue will not release any more information regarding this incident.

Hornsea Inshore Rescue have been tasked to assist in a multi agency search for missing person at 18.20 04/08/26.

Our boat recovered for a crew change and refuel at 2100 hours and is currently still conducting search patterns as instructed by Humber Coastguard .
