St John Ambulance - Horley & Gatwick We also operate a youth programme and lead first aid promotion in the local community. We also support local NHS Trusts in times of need.

St John Ambulance at Horley & Gatwick provide training courses for workplaces as well as volunteer-led event medical services across Surrey and South East England. Founded in 1930

Horley & Gatwick Unit (or “Horley Division” as it was known) has been a key part in the community; ensuring that everyone who needs it, receives first aid from those around them. To this day, we continue to uphold that no one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders. We achieve this by providing training courses for workplaces and medical cover for Horley’s local events such as fairs and carnivals, bonfire and firework nights and the Remembrance Parade. We attend school fairs and local societies, providing an insight into the functions of our fully equipped emergency ambulance and demonstrating simple life-saving skills. Throughout the rest of the year, our function extends to supporting key public events in London and South East England including Brighton Pride, London to Brighton Bike Ride and Epsom Derby. This includes providing personnel to emergency departments, deploying 4x4 ambulances in severe weather conditions and providing an emergency response during high demand for the 999 service.
