We're keen to support all local organisations and would encourage you to share your events on the “What's Happening in Honley” page to make this THE place to go and find out what's going on in our community. Please do not bombard the site with the same information over & over as we know that, through feedback from others, people find this boring (tedious) and it may even be damaging to your events rather than helpful. If people do not adhere to this request we will have no choice but to limit the number to one event promotion per month. Home to three excellent schools, three churches, a library, a village hall, a post office, over 130 thriving and diverse businesses, its own theatre......and a warm welcome to all. Honley has a keen community spirit with over seventy local societies and clubs to suit all ages including a civic society, a camera club, two choirs, a cricket club and many more. Families are well catered for with three playgrounds, a skate park and recreation ground, toddler groups, Scouts, Rainbows, music and dance classes, a play gym...not to mention the many trees to climb at Honley Woods! A diverse range of shops and boutiques, cafes, pubs, restaurants and businesses co-exist with quaint cobbled streets, wonderful countryside and river walks. From the traditional newsagents, butchers shop and bakery to specialist flooring, contemporary florist, optician, fashion and gifts for young and old, food, pharmacy, health and beauty, finance and trades of all description...Honley has it covered! This is just a taste of what Honley has to offer. Special events are also held throughout the year involving the whole community and attracting visitors from near and far, such as the famous Honley Agricultural Show and the Christmas Street Market
