One of the joys of living on the Somerset–Devon border is discovering wonderful local events on our doorstep.
Last weekend we headed to the Yarcombe Terrier Races, and what a fantastic afternoon it was! 🐶
Friendly volunteers, homemade cakes, local food & drink stalls, plenty of dogs to fuss over, and of course the terrier races themselves, raising money for Yarcombe Parish Church, with race tickets donated to the church fund. Now in its 52nd year, the Yarcombe Terrier Races are one of those wonderful traditional village events.
If you're planning a stay with us next summer, it's well worth putting in the diary, the event is held every year on the first Saturday in August. Yarcombe is just 5 miles from Watermead House, making it an easy afternoon out.
