Sullivan Alumni Success!

Congratulations to past pupils Amy Kimber (Club President), Emily Smyth, and Erin Camlin, who were part of the Instonians Ladies Hockey Club team that lifted the All-Ireland Hockey Irish Challenge Cup.

This historic victory marks the club's first major trophy in 57 years, making it a truly special achievement for everyone involved.

We are delighted to feature former Sullivan pupil Rachael McGinty, who left the school in 2024 and has already made an impressive start to her professional career. Rachel joined PwC on a Higher Apprenticeship in Management Consultancy, combining workplace experience with professional qualifications to fast-track her development in the industry.

Since leaving Sullivan, Rachael has completed her Certificate in Business Accounting (CIMA), gained valuable hands-on experience with clients and projects, and has recently been shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Management Consultancy Association (MCA) Apprentice of the Year Award. She is also set to receive a promotion in September.

Rachael credits much of her success to the strong academic foundation and support she received at Sullivan, particularly from the Business Studies department during the apprenticeship application process. Passionate about helping young people explore the full range of opportunities available after school, Rachael is keen to raise awareness of apprenticeships and encourage students to consider the pathways that best suit their strengths and ambitions.

In this Q&A, Rachael reflects on her journey from Sullivan to PwC, shares insights into apprenticeship life, and offers advice for students considering their next steps.

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Michael Tregenna, a teacher who touched the lives of so many within the Sullivan community.

Many of our alumni will remember Mr Tregenna with great fondness, for his dedication, kindness, wisdom, and the lasting impact he made on generations of students. His contribution to school life will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife Violet, his beloved children Karen and Harry, his cherished son-in-law James and daughter-in-law Julie, and his adored grandchildren Oliver, Emily, Will, Zara, and Henry.

We invite alumni, former colleagues, and friends to share their memories, tributes, and condolences in the comments below as we come together to wrap the Tregenna family in the love and support of the Sullivan Alumni community.

Rest in peace, Mr Tregenna. Your influence and legacy will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives you enriched. 💚🖤

Can you help put names to these faces?

We have received this wonderful photograph from Clive Newell, showing P2 in the Sullivan Upper Preparatory Department School, circa 1961.

Over 60 years later, we are hoping our alumni community can help identify the pupils and staff pictured. Do you recognise yourself, a classmate, or a teacher in this photograph?

Please take a look and share any names, memories, or stories you may have in the comments below, or send us a private message if you prefer.

Every identification helps preserve a valuable piece of Sullivan's history for future generations.

Many thanks to Clive for sharing this snapshot from the past.
