National Military Working Dogs Memorial

National Military Working Dogs Memorial This Page is to help create a memorial to the dogs of the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force Police and all Military 'Mascot' Dogs in the UK.

This page is part of the Memorial 'Mobs' range of projects in the UK. There are a series of Memorials to Man's (and Woman's) best friends. In 2016 we unveiled a memorial for the 1957 crash of XH117 a Blackburn Beverley, which included 8 RAF Police Dog Handlers and their Dogs. In the Summer of 2016 we aim to unveil a memorial to Buster the RAFP Mascot and AES dog. A third project is to remember all Military Working Dogs and Military Canine mascots at the Holywell Pet Cemetery in North Wales.

As most of our NMWDM supporters are aware, the Memorial is set within the ornamental gardens of remembrance here in The Pet Cemetery, North wales.
Also situated within the gardens we have the Tea rooms where visitors can relax and enjoy some food or refreshments.
Every month the Tea room staff put on a raffle to raise money for our charity.
Here is a short video of of the winning ticket’s drawn, so if anyone bought a raffle ticked, the winners have just been anounced.

Well what a privilege it was for our NMWDM team to be invited to the, Devon County Agricultural Show this weekend.

Thank you Trudy Conibere, ‘Secretary for the Exeter and County Cannine Society for the opportunity to attend this event and to Neil Morgan for suggesting that all proceeds from the special memorial, ‘ Stakes’ class, in memory of Rita Morgan, be donated to our Charity.
We are incredibly great full for this invite and for the warm, welcome and hospitality shown to us over the weekend.

The Royal Kennel Club have supported the NMWDM charity literally from the very outset when launched in the Houses of Parliament in 2017.
Our Charity and all of the volunteers that help raise funds and awareness are always incredibly grateful and appreciative of their support.
Here is an article published in this month’s Royal Kennel Club Gazette highlighting the completion of the structure including the bronze icon portrait sculptured hero dogs, Buster, Judy, lucky and Theo.
The charity is yet to announce the dates for an official unveiling and inauguration.

As our committed NMWDM charity supporters are aware the structure of the monument is now complete. We are now blasting our way through the long process of our awareness campaign. To help us achieve this our sponsors ‘The Royal kennel Club’ annually provide us with a free stand at crufts whereby our volunteers engage with the public to raise funds and promote awareness.
As mentioned in a recent post of ours it was at this stand that the Telegraph picked up on our plight and after chatting to chairman of our charity John Ward that they decided to include us in their publication.
