We are the largest animal welfare charity in the North West. We rehome over 1800 domestic animals each year and work with local councils to take in stray dogs. We beleive that every animal deserves a second chance, which is why we have a non destruct policy at our charity. At any onetime we have 120 dogs, 100 cats and 20 rabbits & guinea pigs -please vist our lovely residents looking for their forever homes at www.ncar.org.uk

We have many fundraising events and Open Days each year and regularly visit schools and communities to educate on animal welfare. It costs our charity £1000 a day to keep the rescue open - so every donation really does make a difference. CH8 9BD

🧡 A BIG THANK YOU FROM DORIS’S BUNKER 🧡

Now that Doris’s Bunker is refreshed and back open, we wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it happen!

DBP – for kindly donating our beautiful new windows.

Dulux Rhyl – for donating all the paint for our refurb.

Our amazing supporters – for all the wonderful items donated through our Amazon Wishlist.

Our fantastic volunteers – for helping with the revamp, cleaning and continuing to be such an important part of our team.

Our fabulous staff – for the endless hours of cleaning, tidying, organising and bringing our Bunker back to life!

We hope you love the new look. We’ve kept all the home comforts and character you know and love – we’ve simply given Doris’s Bunker a fresh coat of paint and some much-needed TLC!

You’ll also see some new and familiar faces, with Suzie, Julie and Charlie forming our Bunker staff team, and another new staff team member joining us soon, along with all our wonderful volunteer family too that we just simply couldn't manage without them.

We also say a fond farewell and huge thank you to Chris for everything she has done for the café over the years, and to our long-standing volunteer Paul, whose help – especially with the washing up! – has been invaluable. We wish you both all the very best in their future careers and retirements.

Many people may not know that Doris’s Bunker was named after a wonderful lady called Doris who left a legacy to NCAR. You can now read her story in our new menu, along with the story of Mike, whose legacy helped build our conservatory. Their generosity continues to make a difference to NCAR today. 🐾

Doris’s Bunker really is the heart of NCAR. Every coffee, cake, bacon bap or lunch you buy helps, with every penny of profit going towards supporting the animals in our care.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make Doris’s Bunker what it is today. We can’t wait to welcome you back – and you never know, you might even fancy joining our wonderful volunteer team! 🐾

A huge thank you to Ray, the team and the customers at The Druid Inn, Gorsedd for choosing us as your Quiz Night Charity!

Their September quiz raised an incredible £103.10 for the dogs and cats here with us, and they're hoping tomorrow night will be just as successful!

So if you are looking for something to do on a chilly October evening, head down to The Druid Inn, Gorsedd for a fun-filled quiz night!

WE’RE BACK OPEN!

We’re delighted to let you know that Doris’s Bunker at North Clwyd Animal Rescue will be back open from Thursday 8th October!

After being closed throughout September for a much-needed refresh, we’ve been busy behind the scenes giving the Bunker plenty of TLC — including a fresh coat of paint, a deep clean and a good spruce-up.

We’ve missed you all and can’t wait to welcome you back!

Thursday 8th October will be a chance to come along, enjoy some delicious cakes and a coffee, have a catch-up and see the newly refreshed Bunker.

Then from Friday, our full menu will be back!

A huge thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support while we’ve been closed. It really does mean so much to us.
