We are the largest animal welfare charity in the North West. We rehome over 1800 domestic animals each year and work with local councils to take in stray dogs. We beleive that every animal deserves a second chance, which is why we have a non destruct policy at our charity. At any onetime we have 120 dogs, 100 cats and 20 rabbits & guinea pigs -please vist our lovely residents looking for their for

We have many fundraising events and Open Days each year and regularly visit schools and communities to educate on animal welfare. It costs our charity £1000 a day to keep the rescue open - so every donation really does make a difference. CH8 9BD

🐾 Make National Dog Day extra special 🧡

So far this year, 173 of our dogs have found their forever homes. That's 173 wagging tails, happy endings and second chances. 🏡✨

But for the dogs still waiting, their happy ending hasn’t come yet. 💔

Tyson, Taz, Phillip, Jessie, Tyga and Iris have been waiting patiently for over 1,100 days. That’s more than 3 years of watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while they wait for someone to finally say, “I choose you.” 🥺

Then there are Scout, Sadie and Bruno, all over 9 years old, who aren’t asking for much; just a loving home, a comfy sofa and someone to spend their golden years with. 🧡🐶

And Rocky, Angus and Fawn are all under 3. They have their whole lives ahead of them, yet they’re still waiting for someone to give them the chance they deserve.

This National Dog Day, why not make it extra special? 🐾

There are dogs of every shape, size, age and personality waiting at NCAR to meet the person who will change their world forever.

You could be their happy ending. 🧡

Because when you adopt a rescue dog, you don’t just give them a home…

Come along to Doris’s Bunker at North Clwyd Animal Rescue tomorrow evening for our Cars & Coffee for Cats & Canines!

FROM STRAY TO SAFE 🐶

Many of our dogs arrived to us as a stray, they arrive without their owners, often with very little known about their history. From the moment they arrive, a lot happens behind the scenes — checking for microchips, arranging veterinary care, getting to know each dog’s personality and needs, and eventually finding the right home for them.

And, of course, there is the constant challenge of space. Some months we have too many arrivals verses departures. We have to use emergency kennels or organise emergency foster, especially for the older dogs or puppies ❤️.

We wanted to share with you some statistics on arrivals and departures at the rescue. We celebrate every dog that gets adopted and we love to see that they are well loved and enjoying life with their family. Every dog that comes through our doors has a story — and we’re incredibly proud of the part we get to play in helping them find their next chapter 🐾.

But we have so many that are still waiting for homes, with some dogs that haven't even had a single appointment yet. We have some dogs that are still waiting years later for their perfect home. Please consider our golden oldies and long termers when considering adopting one of our dogs. Some of them are cheeky, sassy and naughty but the kennel staff and volunteers absolutely adore them and their funny ways. We'd love to share them with you 🖤.
