A huge thank you to the RAF movements trade golfers for their generous donation to our charity today of Β£600!

This was from their annual golf tournament where the winner gets to chose a charity of their choice to donate to so an extended thank you goes to Keith Richards (Fiona Richards) for choosing us and a big well done on your win! πŸŒοΈβ›³οΈ

They mentioned that a number of their trade had been affected by this awful disease and so they were all really pleased to be able to donate to help us to support so many more that have to face this fight.

Thank you we appreciate your donation πŸ™

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page.

In May 2019 I was diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer, following major surgery and six rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, I’m thankful to say I am here to tell the story.

This year I am taking part in Big Hike my friend and colleague Mike Spells, and we walking under the name of Team Chemocare Bags, which is a charity which was set up by my daughter and wife after seeing me going through the unpleasant side affects of chemotherapy.

So if you are able to support us by donating towards cancer research UK, to help the research into further methods of combating this evil disease. Thankyou

After a message from Carina the playworker on Dewi Ward asking if we knew if there was any charities that did Chemocare bags for children we immediately said we would help.

This involved a bit of thought compared to our normal bags as the age range of the patients is wide (ages 2-17).
We packed up the standard bags and have labelled socks with sizes, included a choice of suitable age colouring books and puzzle books and a choice of cold sippy cups or thermal cup depending on the age of the patient.

20 bags were delivered today (10 girls and 10 boys).
Thank you for getting in touch so we can help these younger patients sadly having to go through chemotherapy too.

Cancer knows no age!

Thank you to Harry Jones who did the same and purchased items for the bags.

Not sure how you manage it, this is the second year running for their support thank you!

We received an email tonight from a patient that received a bag today on their first day of chemotherapy saying how much it made her smile and other patients around her getting their bags were smiling too!

This is what it’s all about, putting together bags of items that are useful and thoughtful to help patients through the side effects of treatment and giving them something to smile about on that first scary day of treatment πŸ’œ
