A bit of a sad update from me
I've had a bit of a difficult week, everyone. On Wednesday, I was in an accident while I was out doing my hubcap deliveries. 😔
I’m okay physically, which is the most important thing, but I was on my own and it was my first accident. It’s really shaken me up and I'm still quite unsettled. I'm finding my sleep is a bit disturbed too. I have lots of support from my family and friends, especially my mum, because that's who I live with. ❤️
The car isn’t drivable at the moment, and quite a lot of my hubcaps were with me in the back of it when the accident happened. Thankfully the damage was to the front wing, so they shouldn't be affected. The RAC man said he'd make sure nobody touches them! 😂 Thankfully I'm fully insured, so everything is being dealt with (although the excess is £1,000... yikes!). I can never understand it when I hear stories of people driving uninsured. It is so reckless.
My ‘find cars that need hubcaps and deliver them’ rounds will have to be paused for a few weeks while the work is done, but anyone local who needs hubcaps can still send me requests. I know what I’ve got in my collection pretty well, so if I think I have the right one for you, I can put it aside and then deliver it once the car and the hubcaps are back and I’m able to start doing my rounds again.
I’m really sorry if anyone feels I've let them down. I love my hubcap project and hate having to put things on hold, but hopefully it will only be for a few weeks.
I'm already reflecting on what happened and thinking about what I can learn from it, so I'd really appreciate people being kind if they comment, as I'm still quite shaken up.
Thank you for being patient with me. ❤️
Matthew

P.S. I know if I read this I would be curious, so for anyone who wants to know, I pulled into the right-hand lane on a small dual carriageway but hadn't spotted a car in my blind spot. 😔 I was doing less than 30mph, thankfully, and the other driver is okay. They've been very kind and understanding towards me, which I really appreciate. ❤️
