🥣 THE CORNFLAKE GAMES HAVE BEGUN! 🏆😂

Taskmaster came to Scouts… and apparently, cornflakes are the answer to EVERYTHING. 🤷‍♂️🤣

From transporting the most cornflakes to building the tallest tower and creating the best Fleur-de-Lis, our Scouts went head-to-head in a series of cracking challenges. 🌽🏗️⚜️

Somewhere, a breakfast cereal factory is wondering why demand for cornflakes has suddenly gone through the roof. 📈🥣🤣

Best scouts ever! Please join our scouts and have fun. We are having a competition with the other scouts in our group, so please give us lots of views! (don't tell the other team) we meet on Tuesday evenings 7-8.30pm. we also do need more leaders, so please joing if you have spare time!

✨🏕️ To finish off our camp weekend… 🏕️✨

As the sun went down, the Scouts got creative and used glow sticks to make this brilliant picture! 💚 We think it’s the perfect way to round off an amazing weekend of adventure.

Scouting is all about giving young people the chance to explore, learn, have adventures and make memories.

But to keep making moments like these happen, we need your help.

👧🧒 More young people are always welcome to join our Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ We’re looking for more adult volunteers to help us give them even more opportunities.

🏡 We’re also fundraising for a new Scout Hut, and every donation brings us one step closer to making it happen.

🛒🥕🍝 THE CAMP FOOD SHOP IS DONE! 🏕️

Just ONE MORE SLEEP until camp! 👀

There’s a lot that goes into getting a Scout camp ready — and apparently, feeding a group of hungry Scouts requires quite a shopping list! 😂

From planning and shopping to cooking, organising activities and keeping everything running once we arrive, so much of camp happens thanks to our amazing adult volunteers. ❤️

And that’s where you could come in…

🙌 You don't need to be an experienced Scout leader.
🙌 You don't need to know how to pitch a tent.
🙌 You don't need to commit every week.

There are loads of different ways to get involved, whether you have a little time to spare or want to become a regular part of the team.

We’d like to join everyone in congratulating our Group Lead Volunteer, Anne or as we all know her, baloo, on this well-earned recognition. Her leadership, kindness and unwavering support have helped shape our group into what it is today. Thank you for everything you do – we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. Congratulations, Anne! 👏⚜️

One of the highlights of our AGM was celebrating an incredible milestone as Anne received her 40 Years' Service Award.

For 40 years, Anne has given her time and commitment to Scouting, supporting generations of young people and volunteers along the way.

Reaching 40 years of service is a fantastic achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated.

New Mill Scout Group are still meeting every week, providing fun, adventure, and exciting activities for local children.

We are currently working towards building a new scout hut to create a safe, modern space for our meetings and activities. If you’re able to offer any support—whether through fundraising, donations, materials, skills, or other help—we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at [email protected].

This is such an important role in helping keep everything running smoothly for the children, families, and activities we all enjoy. If you’re organised, trustworthy, and able to spare a little time to support the group, we’d really love to hear from you.

You don’t need to be an accountant — support will be available, and it’s a great way to get involved and help our local community here in New Mill.
