Aerobics - what's that!? 🤪
With no comment on our leaders' cumulative age for naming this archaic practice 🤭, scouts still hit the ageing hut's floor hard as they learnt what it was like to really exercise in the 80s. 🫣
Thankfully no mirrors, but innovative takes on some classic exercises, punching some moves à le Rocky-style.💪
Well done 5th Scouts 🤟 - leg warmers and sweat bands are in the post! 😅

District Hike last weekend, 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
a select few in two teams plotting their own routes around some orienteering targets to navigate in the wilds of North Herts! 🐑🐇🐦‍⬛
Steady pace and some trusty staves saw them all navigate successfully back by the finish time for a well deserved hot dog and drink. 🙌
Thank you everyone at Hitchin District Scouts for organising a great day !! 🫵👏

Late tee off! 🏌‍♂️🏌‍♀️
Few sessions in already this term but crazy ⛳️golf makes the debut reel.
Scouts were challenged with making two recycled obstacles from each patrol before they were put to the ultimate test - to survive some hard hitting golf balls tonked around the course with some make shifts 'clubs'!!🏑
Good fun and some very creative tubes, boxes and double sided sticky tape!! 🤩

Autumn 2026 - welcome back 5th Beavers, Cubs and Scouts! 🐾👣🏕

Over the summer recess, our aged hut still managed to feature in a scouting challenge, 😅 as it was visited by a Norfolk Scout no less, on her record breaking fundraiser mission to travel around the country visiting as many as possible in 7 days.
Well done Maya and good luck with rest of your fundraising and hope you enjoyed the World Scout Jamboree. 🫶🌍

Looking forward to welcoming some new faces this week to all our sections, 👋 as we head into a programme of jam packed activity sessions each week, not forgetting some weekend camping fun too.

Final farewell to our Senior Patrol Leaders as our older scouts move on in their Scouting journey. 🫡⚜️
A couple joined late on, but still achieved many Challenge badges,🙌👏, the core skills demonstrated so well by those attaining their hard won Chief Scouts Gold after four years of dedication in nine Challenges, six Activities and Staged badges for many hours of scouting fun. 🤩 🥳
Well done all and we'll miss you! 🫵👍🤘

5th's last mini-montage to wrap up the term, literally hitting and bouncing off the inflatable gauntlet, as we careered around the course across the border.
Really good fun and great team spirit pulling fallen scouts out of the morass of flailing limbs to have one more go at that obstacle.💪👏🫶🤝

And the end result, Mike showing us the tricks we can aim towards, step by step and breaking each into achievable goals. Luckily the 'volunteer' leader didn't sit up at the wrong time! 🙃
Huge thanks to Mike Mullen for a fantastic evening - very patient, fun, professional and encouraging.😎

Confidence growing, some longer videos of more tricks and moves on the bikes as the evening progressed. 🙌
