We'd like to say a massive thank you to everybody who came along to Walsworth Common and took part in our tombola raffle at Walsworth Festival on 17th May!

You helped us raise a total of £150, a brilliant achievement that will help us give back in our local communities. Those who didn't win a prize still took home sweets and lollies, so everyone was a winner. 🥳 We hope you enjoy your goodies!

As a non-profit charity, everything we do centres around unpaid carers and the individuals they care for, and your support helps us make a real difference to those in need.

Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place this year from 11–17 May 💜

It’s a good moment to stop and check in with ourselves and the people around us. Our mental wellbeing matters at every stage of life, yet for many older people it can be affected by things like loneliness, bereavement, caring responsibilities, or changes in health.

There are small, gentle things that can help support your mental wellbeing day to day:
💬 Talking to someone you trust, even for a short chat
🚶 Getting outside for some fresh air and light movement
📻 Keeping a simple routine with things you enjoy
🧠 Being kind to yourself on the harder days
🤝 Staying connected in ways that feel comfortable for you

If things are starting to feel overwhelming, reaching out can really help. You don’t have to wait until things hit crisis point.

You can explore more helpful advice and ideas here:

And if you’d prefer to talk things through, our InTouch telephone listening service is here to offer a calm, supportive space. Sometimes, having someone really listen is the first step 💬

At its core, care is about enabling people to live the life they choose. Our brilliant Support Workers aid independence with skill, respect and a clear focus on what matters to each individual.

This is professional, person‑centred care in action - and we’re super proud of it.

This April we're celebrating the hard work and dedication of every single Crossroads colleague, because each member of the team makes an incredible daily difference to the lives of local carers and their families.

We love these quotes from the team about supporting people to gain and maintain independence at home. 💪
