Hirwaun Community Events HCE

Hello everyone!

We wanted to make the announcement that after much consideration, myself and Tasha (Chairperson and Treasurer of Hirwaun Community Events) will be stepping down from the committee, and unfortunately HCE will not be continuing going forward unless new committee members come forward to take over the group.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. From attending events, volunteering, donating and simply showing up for the community — your support has meant so much to us and has helped make so many wonderful local memories possible.

Sadly, due to increasing family and work commitments, we are no longer in a position to dedicate the time needed to continue running the group as it deserves and as you can all imagine, it does take alot behind the scenes!

At this time, this means that the Duck Race in August and the Christmas Around the Clock event in December will not be going ahead unless we are able to find people willing to take over the committee and continue the work of HCE.

We have absolutely loved our time being part of Hirwaun Community Events and feel incredibly proud of everything that has been achieved for the community.

Thank you all again for the support, kindness and memories ❤️

Good morning everyone!

Today is the day for our Easter egg hunt at the Glan!

The tickets for this event are now sold out but all are welcome to come visit our little market of local traders to buy a little something for Easter or just because 😉🥰

We will have our HCE stall set up also to trade in your trail stamp cards for your prize so don't forget to bring them along! If you don't have your stamp card we cannot give you your prize so it's important you have it with you!

Parking - there is NO parking on the Glancynon site today. Everyone must park in the neighbouring streets for health and safety of the public.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE CONES BLOCKING THE CARPARK.

Our line up for today:

🐰 We have Miss Rachel joining us at 12pm

🐇 Stalls open from 12pm

🐰 Egg hunt starts at 1pm

🐇 Visit from the Easter bunny

🐰 The Glancynon is open for refreshments etc

But most importantly... We hope you all have a wonderful time!

Wow! What a turnout for our Easter trail in the village!! Hirwaun has come to life today with such a fun and happy vibe! Thank you for getting involved, it's been a pleasure to see everyone having fun through Hirwaun

Thank you so much to all our wonderful businesses also for getting involved and really making the trail something to remember! Some have even given out little treats as the children come round 😍😍

Our egg tree is looking amazing so far too with all the decorations being added throughout the day 😍 these can be found in the library if there's any left or you can add your own!

Keep the photos coming guys we love to see them!

Don't forget you have all week to collect your stamp cards and clue sheet from the library then collect all 12 stamps! Bring the completed stamp card to the HCE easter egg hunt to trade it for your prize! (tickets sold seperately for this event).
once this second lot of stamp cards are gone, that will be it as we only have so much budget for this free event and we printed out 80 .

Wow massive response to our Easter egg trail we didn't think it would be so popular. Please tag us in your pictures and as of 2pm the library has had more trail cards.

* Please note each trail card = 1 egg so to make sure we have enough eggs for everyone we need to make sure the stamp cards are monitored. If you have not had a stamp card from library you won't have an egg and we really don't want anyone to be disappointed xx

Get hopping around our wonderful shops this Easter half term! Free event to get the kids out! Simply pick up your card and clues from Hirwaun Library and go about the trail in your own time.
