🟠Together with Rathfriland group we are creating an interactive digital 'story-map' that will record Hilltown and Rathfriland's architectural heritage.

🔵There are only four groups in Northern Ireland chosen for this pilot project. So it’s a great opportunity to showcase our heritage.

🟢Don’t worry about not being tech savvy. Volunteers for UAHS will be on hand to upload info. We just need your support to come along!

📅 You're Invited to Clonduff’s Development group Annual General Meeting

🔴Clonduff Development Enterprise (CDE) and CDE COI warmly invite you to their Annual General Meeting this month.

🟠CDE, a co-operative and community benefit society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, has been at the heart of local development since the 1990’s with the regeneration of the Downshire Arms Hotel.

🟡CDE COI, is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with the NI Charites Commission, was formed in 2018 to attract funding for the transformation of the former St John’s Church of Ireland building in the Square, a Grade B2 listed ‘building at risk’ and the founding building of Hilltown.

🟢Thanks to support from the The Architectural Heritage Fund and a The National Lottery Heritage Fund Northern Ireland development grant, the journey to restore this historic building into a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable heritage and community space for the community is well underway.

🔵Come along on Monday 22nd September at 7.30pm to Carcullion House and hear about the progress so far and be part of shaping the next chapter.

🟣Everyone is welcome and there will be tea and coffee to start. Let’s work together to transform the heart of Hilltown.

🌸Flax to fibre to fabric night.

🌾Come along this Monday evening and meet Charlie and Helen from Mallon Linen from Mallon Farm in Cookstown.

🌸 Having restored a 1940's scutching turbine, they will share their story and discuss the history and future of flax growing on their farm.

🌾 Have a go at processing flax from plant to fibre to yarn and textile.

Hilltown Scanning Day

🎞️Scan your old photographs, documents and more for free at the Hilltown Community Scanning Day!

🗞️Scanning day is an event where community members are invited to share their photos and documents for digital preservation organised by Clonduff Development Enterprise as part of their The National Lottery Heritage Fund Northern Ireland programme.

🎞️ The aim of the day is to digitize and preserve community history through photos and documents. People bring their photos, letters, newspapers, documents and memorabilia, which are then scanned on the day by a team of heritage archivists using mobile scanning equipment.

🗞️ The scanned materials are returned to the donors on the day and each item is carefully captured, referenced, and archived. High-quality digital copies of all scanned materials are sent to contributors within a fortnight.

👏So, let’s help preserve our local history for future generations, protecting collections from damage or loss. Everyone is welcome.
