Hillsborough Village

Hillsborough Village The Hillsborough & District Committee was formed in 1951 to organise the local celebrations of the Festival of Britain. New members are always welcome!

It has continued in office since then, working on projects to enhance village life and addressing matters of local concern. Did you know the committee:
* Arranges for the annual Christmas tree and decorations to be put up?

* Is heavily involved in the Britain in Bloom and Ulster in Bloom efforts each year?

* Created the Visitor's Booklet that is available throughout the village?

* Has been campaigning to have traffic restrictions in place in the village? Committee meetings are held on the second Wednesday of September, November, January, March and May. The Hillsborough & District Committee gratefully acknowledge financial support from Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. With the 12th July celebrations on Monday 13th July in the Royal Village fast approaching here’s a reminder of some of the key details.

The Parade will be leaving from Culcavy crossroads at 11.30am, making its way up the Culcavy Road, Lisburn Road, Lisburn Street, Main Street and into the Dark walk for the demonstration at Hillsborough Fort. Route is 1.5 miles long.

Car parking is available at Ritchie’s car park, Hillsborough Village Centre, Peter’s Patch and fields on the Carnreagh Road for Blue badge holders. These car parks will be first come first served and will be open from 8am.

The public car parks are the fields on the Carnreagh Road which can be accessed from Hillsborough Roundabout. All car parks are £10 per vehicle.

Hillsborough forest car park spaces have been allocated for permit holders and parade vehicles.

Toilets will be available at the assembly field in Culcavy, under the carriage way bridge on the Culcavy Road, Lisburn Road junction, Ritchie’s car park, Dark Walk, forest car park and the fort field.

Accessible toilets will be located at the Assembly field, Ritchie’s car park and the fort field.

Please take note of the toilet facilities and make use of these!

Please be aware that the feeder parade with the Hillsborough village lodges, will be leaving Royal Hillsborough Orange Hall on Ballynahinch Street at 10.15am, which will see the roads being closed to let the parade make its way down to Culcavy.

Also all car parks are cash only, so please come prepared with your £10.
