It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our Founding Members Thompson Crossey

CROSSEY, William Thompson – 8th January 2026. Peacefully at Lisadian House Private Nursing Home aged 97 years. Late of Old Road, Maghaberry.

Dearly beloved husband of the late Dolly, dearest father of Leonard, Allen, Robert, Angela, Kenneth, Sandra and Diane, dear father-in-law and a devoted grandad and great granda.

Service of Thanksgiving will be held in Priesthill (Zion) Methodist Church Kesh Rd, Lisburn BT27 5RR on Sunday 11th January at 1.15pm afterwards to Lisburn New Cemetery Blaris for burial.

Donations in memory, if desired, online via www.ronniethompson.co.uk or cheques payable to Ronnie Thompson Donations Account for Air Ambulance and Dementia N.I. c/o Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors, 20 Ballinderry Road, Lisburn, BT28 1UF.

Will be lovingly remembered and very sadly missed by his family and the wider family circle.

🎄✨ Hillsborough Village Christmas Tree Lights Switch On! ✨🎄

The festive season is just around the corner, so what better way to start than by coming together to light up our village! 🌟

📍 Hillsborough Parish Church Gates

This special cross-community celebration, hosted by Hillsborough Parish Church, will include a short act of worship, some favourite carols around the tree, and of course the magical moment the lights come on! 💫

Afterwards, pop into the Church Centre for mince pies, coffee, and festive chat.

Bring your family, friends, and neighbours - everyone’s welcome! Let’s make it a bright and joyful start to kick-off the Christmas season in Hillsborough. ❤️

Come along to our VE-DAY Celebration in fancy dress and have the chance to win a prize on the day. fun for all the family on sat 10th May 1pm - 4pm.
This event is organised by local community groups around Hillsborough with the kind permission of the parish church to use the green.

Monday 3rd June 8pm to start events in Royal Hillsborough commemorating D Day. a talk on Ulsters part in D day hosted in Hillsborough Fort Guard Headquarters @ the Parish Church ( Maginess Room )
Thursday 6th June Royal Hillsborough RBL will hold an act of remembrance at the village war memorial 6.30 pm

Saturday 8th June 2pm - 4pm Hillsborough Parish Church Green, community groups from the village have jointly organised a commemoration event to recognise all those that played apart in D Day from the farmers to the fishermen who kept the nation fed during WWII and the young men & women who went abroad to serve in bringing peace.

on the day the fantastic singer Paula Kay, kids lawn games & entertainment along with WWII memorabilia and info boards on D Day plus the Royal British Legion riders Branch and vintage motorcycle club from Lurgan

A special thanks to Hillsborough Parish Church on the use of the church green. Tori’s bakery who will providing the buns and Chip Hawker in the village for the fish and chips.

Thanks to the Local Community Groups - Dunbeg Ashvale & Kilwarlin Community Group, Royal Hillsborough RBL, Hillsborough Fort Guard, Hillsborough Old Guard & Hillsborough Working Together for coming together with the help of LCCC to run these events for the community.
