LIGHTS FOR HOPE
Happy Monday everyone, so as you may have seen I started putting up the 2025 Christmas Light Display last week, I am lucky enough to be in-between a new job so started early!
Now some of you think I am nuts starting in November but the light display always goes in sync with our local Christmas Sparkle event which for our little town is a fantastic community spirited event, my wife Cupalicious By Lisa will be baking 12 hours a day in preparation for her biggest show of the year.
However the lights also have a more meaningful idea to Christmas as I always like to try and raise money for a charity.
During Covid we raised over £3000 for the NHS with various fundraising events and this year the light display itself is for a very special charity called Northampton Hope Centre
The Northampton Hope Centre, founded in 1974, starting off largely as a soup kitchen, they have now grown into a strong, forward thinking charity and whilst they still cater from a Day Centre for the basic needs of those who are homeless and disadvantaged (food, clothing, showers, etc.), they also work closely with those at the margins of society to help them regain control over their lives. Each year they see over 1000 individuals, (averaging 120 each day).
So if you are able to give any donation I can assure you the money will help keep those most in need off the streets with a hot meal on Christmas day.
The Lights will be switched on this Friday from 5pm ahead of the magical Higham Sparkle on Saturday.
