Refresh Wycombe Open Mon - Sat 10-5 & Sun 1-5. Find us at 16 Church Street opposite the entrance to the old Chilterns shopping centre

Refresh Wycombe is a wonderful scrap store based in the Chiltern Shopping Centre, right here in the heart of High Wycombe. Our aim is to encourage you to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Create. We have a huge selection of surplus and unwanted stock all donated by local businesses and individuals. You may be a crafter, a teacher, an artist or a maker. We have fantastic fabrics, textiles, haberdashery items, cards, papers, foils, and shelves full of materials just waiting for you to give it a second life and use it on your next project. We are open to everyone, so come and visit us every Saturday between 10am and 4pm and Wednesday between 1:30pm and 4:30pm. We’re just next door to Primark inside the Chiltern Shopping Centre.

Discover something new and join us this Saturday 17th October 10:30 - 12:30, for our Introduction to Natural Dyeing workshop. Learn about the wonderful colours and patterns that can be found in nature, and how to harness them for eco-friendly dyeing.

In this workshop, you will be taught the fundamentals of natural dyeing including fibre preparation, dye types and methods, and colour modification.

This will be followed by a practical demonstration where each of you will put together your own botanical contact dyeing bundles to take home.

Taught in our wonderful shop by one of our fabulous tutors. You’ll learn the basics of this beautiful technique in a fun atmosphere.

We’ll provide all the materials. Just bring yourself. 😊

There’ll be teas and coffees, and of course chocolates.

It will be Wycombe Friends of the Earth’s 20th anniversary in November. They are celebrating the event on Wednesday 4th November 7pm - 9pm at The Trinity United Reform Church, London Road, High Wycombe HP11 1BJ. It is a few minutes walk from the train station, on bus routes and adjacent to a public car park, which is free from 7pm.

Light refreshments will be served.

We are also celebrating the 25th anniversary of Wycombe Environment Centre, who run The Refresh shop. We have long standing close links with WFoE.

We are delighted that Asad Rehman, CEO of Friends of the Earth will be joining us and giving a short talk.

We are all part of small groups of dedicated individuals, all doing our bit to make a positive difference. Sometimes we can feel we only achieve a limited amount, but it is good to meet up from time to time to find out more about how all our work feeds into the bigger picture and to build connections between local groups.

This Saturday afternoon in the shop, we’re going to learn how to make a little pumpkin! Why don’t you join us? You can either knit or crochet, the choice is yours. We’ll provide the needles and wool. Just bring yourself. If you can already crochet or knit, this workshop is definitely for you.

Join us this Saturday, September 19th 10:30am - 12:30pm at the Shop.

Want to learn how to make some of these gorgeous hexies? Curious about English paper piecing (EPP)? Come along and discover this traditional hand-stitching technique where fabric is wrapped around small paper shapes and then stitched together to create beautiful patchwork designs.

In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to prepare your fabric and papers, stitch your pieces together, and start creating your own EPP project. It’s a wonderfully portable and mindful craft, perfect for enjoying with a cup of tea, at home or on the go. No previous patchwork experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and let’s get stitching! 🪡🧵

Instructions will be provided to turn your panel into a cushion or wall hanging of your choice. Fabrics will be provided but if you have small pieces you want to use - bring them along! Taught in our wonderful shop by our fabulous tutor We’ll provide all the materials you’ll need. Just bring yourself.

FRIDAY 18TH - BEGINNERS HAND SEWING: Learn the basics of sewing without a machine. We’ll introduce you to some basic sewing techniques such as hemming, sewing on buttons, fixing holes in jumpers and sewing badges on clothes. Perhaps you have a garment that needs a basic repair but you don’t know where to start?  Or bring your project in with you and we’ll show you how to do it.
