Well here it is . Its a long read and I intend to take a little time to sum up thoughts.
This is the culmination of the funding of Kents and other local authoritys deficit for SEN provision.
The amount mentioned by Kents response to this is pretty small when you consider that this is purely for mainstream provision and not all will be treated the same.
Post 16 and early years will receive different allocations and the ways they are allowed to spend this.
Mainstream provisions from 5 to 16 will again have strict "guidelines " on how they spend this.
It's highly likely that academy's and local authority schools will receive different funding levels as will free schools.
Current severe and profound settings won't receive any additional funding from this pot.
Nothing about this is good news to me as with more and more children in kent with send are either excluded or steerer towards education from home.
This little time bomb will really only find its actual impact when these young people reach adulthood.
If they worry about youth unemployment now just wait for this little disaster.
Our young people can lead lives that improve their lives and the society they live in. They will , given a little help and a chance offer their talents.
Talents and opportunities come from the building blocks we give them now.
We reap what we sow.
