Dog fouling is consistently cited as a major public concern, damaging the reputation of public spaces, posing health risks, and frustrating residents. For local authorities and land management organisations, tackling this issue requires more than just clean-up—it requires behaviour change and educating the public.

Behaviour change and educating the public, a challenge Hexham Wombles are happy to accept!

Which is why the Hexham Wombles, with the help of The Torch Flames, Hexham Flood Wardens and Hexham Town Council are launching a SCOOP THE P**P Campaign

We all know that there is no such thing as a P**P fairy! We all have to play our part to Keep Britain Tidy!

We know that dog fouling increases as the nights draw in, and people are less likely to pick up when they feel they aren’t being observed. That’s why we are watching you!

We Wombles know just how beneficial having a dog can be for both mental and physical health. Dogs are family pets and dogs mean so much to so many people! Us Brits are so obsessed on dogs!

So let’s get obsessed with Scoop The P**p! There are so many gorgeous areas of Hexham including Tyne Green Country Park, Sele Park, Wydon Water, Dukes Woods to name only a few! So let’s do our bit to Keep Britain Tidy and Scoop The P**p!

Just wanted to let you all know that with the help of The Torch Flames and Hexham Flood Wardens we are relaunching our Hexham Hexham Wombles and Hexham Town Council Bin Your Butt! and Bin The Wipe Campaigns which were initially launched with the Hexham Wombles, Hexham Town Council and Northumberland County Council last year. These campaigns are still very much ongoing and with the edition of the Butt Buckets 🚬 🪣 supplied by Hexham Town Council, it's now even easier to dispose of your cigarette waste!

Simply enjoy your smoke whether on your own or with friends on a night out or just walking the dog, taking away the stress of a busy week! Then pop it in the litter bin 🚮 🗑️ or our fabulous new Butt Buckets 🚬 🪣!

Our BIN THE WIPE CAMPAIGN! A Continuation of a National BIN YOUR WIPE CAMPAIGN that’s been active since 2020!

Back in 2020, the Bin the Wipe campaign was launched in order to tackle this tricky problem, which is one of the biggest causes of sewer blockages. Hexham Wombles felt it was time to partner with the Torch Flames and Hexham Flood Wardens and get in on the ACTION! We don’t like to feel left out!

Wipes are amazing and have billions of uses and we use them daily in our lives but sadly unlike toilet paper, wipes don’t break down - and they account for over 60% of blockages in the North East, leading to flooding, blocked drains and environmental damage such as pollution in our rivers, watercourses and, indeed, our seas and oceans! 🌊 🐟 🪸

The message has always been, and will always remain, simple. BIN YOUR BUTT! 🚬 BIN THE WIPE! 🚮

Small changes make a big difference, and today's news is the big difference we've been waiting for... you could say SUCCESSFULL VICTORY! If people follow our advice
