Our 2025 total is official: £4,200 raised for Dove House Hospice! 🎶🏆

We were pleased to announce the final figure at our annual presentation meal last night. Our Chair, Hilary Hogan, presented the cheques to Tiff and Suzanne from the Dove House fundraising team, marking our most successful year to date.

After reaching £4,000 for the first time last year, we are proud to have set a new record for the Hessle Waits. This season was particularly significant as we marked the 80th anniversary of our 1945 post-war return. Sharing this history on BBC Breakfast brought our tradition to a national audience, and the response from the public has been remarkable.

Every penny of this £4,200 goes directly to the hospice to support specialist care for local families.

Thank you to our singers, our collectors, and everyone who donated on the doorsteps or online. Your support ensures this tradition continues to thrive while helping a vital local cause! 💙

The carols have ended, but we’re not finished yet! 🎶🏁

The Hessle Waits have officially hung up our lantern for 2025. What a season it’s been - from the streets of Hessle to the screens of BBC Breakfast!

We’re on BBC Breakfast! 📺🎶

What a proud morning for The Hessle Waits.

We were live at Hesslewood House Care Home earlier today, following a film about the 80th anniversary of the first post-war Christmas. Listen in to hear our Chair Hilary talk about our history and why this year is so special, followed by a performance of one of our favourite carols!

Tonight’s the night! 🎄

It’s almost time for our final route of the season. Join us from around 7:30pm – 8:30pm at Tranby Gate Woodland and Wildlife Haven for carols under the trees.

🍷 Mulled wine and mince pies will be served, with proceeds going to the Friends of Tranby Gate to help protect our local woodland.

🏥 Any additional donations to the Waits support our annual grant to Dove House Hospice.

Once we've finished at the woodland, we will be setting off down Woodfield Lane and Southfield to keep the music going!

We are SINGING LIVE now in Hessle Square! 🎄

Come on down to the Square and soak up some festive atmosphere! We are here performing your favorite carols and raising much-needed funds for Dove House Hospice.

We’ll be singing until about 1:00pm, so if you are out in Hessle doing your Saturday shopping, please stop by, say hello, and help us fill our collection buckets! 🪣

We’re back at it tomorrow morning, Saturday 20th. We’ll be starting in Hessle Square (near R & C Goodfellow Family Butcher and Gary Alden Butchers) from 10:30am.
