A landmark moment for Men's Sheds across East Hertfordshire & Essex!

Last Friday, we hosted the very first East Herts Shed Network Meeting in Hertford, a great occasion to bring together the people who are the backbone of each Shed.

We shared experiences, celebrated successes, discussed challenges, and explored how we can support each another and collaborate on growing our Sheds.

We'll now be meeting quarterly to keep us all connected - with Ware Men's Shed hosting our next gathering

It's not too late to get involved in Village Halls Week 2026! ⏳

We're just five days out from the biggest and best (if we do say so ourselves! 😂) celebration of the year, and we can't wait to see what our 10,000 village halls have in store! 🤩

Here’s just a taste of what’s happening:

🍫 Chocolate bingo at Flash Village Hall
🕺 Monday night disco at Franklin Hall - Spilsby
🎤 An afternoon with TV legend Kate Adie at Worth Matravers Village Events in Dorset

But we know there are hundreds of other events happening right across the country. 🎉

Village Halls Week returns on Monday 16 March! 🎉

And this year we're shining a light on how these essential community buildings empower rural people to live happier, healthier lives 💪

Across five days, we're encouraging our incredible network of more than 10,000 village halls to host events inspired by the Five Steps to Wellbeing 👇

📆 Monday 16 March: Connecting
📆 Tuesday 17 March: Being active
📆 Wednesday 18 March: Keep learning
📆 Thursday 19 March: Giving
📆 Friday 20 March: Taking notice

Whether your village hall goes big or keeps it simple, what matters most is people coming together, having fun and celebrating all that's special about their rural community! 🥳🎉
