This week we started Cubs with lots of games of volcanoes and craters and dodgeball. Tonight we continued to work on our Naturalist Badge. Cubs talked about why trees are so important to us, we identified 10 different trees types from their leaves. Cubs came up with so many interesting facts! Chill has set a number of our younger Cubs a Personal Challenge that they can complete over the next three weeks, please encourage them, some have committed to keeping their rooms tidy!!! We then talked about our hike next week and what they need to bring. A great night of active Cub Scouting.

Cubs enjoyed a great evening warming up before a fantastic game of capture the flag. We then looked at all the badges that you could get in Cubs and each Cub chose an Activity Badge to complete at home. We had two amazing Cubs of the week. Proud leaders of great Cubs. ⭐️

The 1st Herstmonceux Scout Jumble Sale at The Reid Hall yesterday made an amazing £674.00. Thanks to the support that came from across the group and wider community. A special thank you to those who helped who have no direct links but wanted to support us. We are already looking forward to next year!!! These funds will go directly to enhancing our programme and we can make a difference for all our young people’s futures. ⭐️

We hope everyone has had a brilliant summer! Our leaders have been busy planning an exciting term - and you can check it all out on OSM very soon.

Squirrels are getting off to an exciting start celebrating 5 years since the Squirrel section first started in the UK. We’ll be joining 1st Broad Oak and Punnetts Town Scouts for the very first Hailsham and Heathfield District Squirrel camp at the end of September.

Watch this space for more exciting opportunities for all the sections to get involved in.

A date for your diary!
The jumble sale returns this year! It has been planned to raise funds for our group. Can you help?
Do you have any small prizes for the tombola - please bring to the meetings in September or drop us a message and we can arrange to collect. Are you having a sort out or declutter over the summer, please keep any jumble for the sale. (Unfortunately we are not able to store prior to the sale, please bring to the hall in the morning of the sale).
Are you able to help on the day?
Can you bake some cakes for the refreshments?
Can you spread the message by sharing this post!
Any help would be so very much appreciated.
