Doug Prangell.
This Page is sad to announce the passing, earlier this month, of long time member of NCI Herne Bay, Doug Prangell. Before retiring from NCI in 2020 Doug was a popular member of the Station for over a decade, much of that time spent as the Quarter Master coping admirably with uniform and equipment orders for a ship's company always in excess of 50! In the picture below, taken in June 2019 at the Station visit to HM Coastguard Herne Bay, Doug can be seen pondering the operational equipment on display and no doubt making mental notes ahead of his next Watch.
Doug's funeral, at which all are welcome, takes place at Herne Bay Cemetary on Monday 31st March at 11am, the only dress code [insisted on by Doug himself] is 'no ties'. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes UK are being taken.
This Page offers sincere condolences to the family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. RIP.
