Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Society Hereford G&S Society is an award-winning UK society performing the famous G&S operettas for over 75 years! S. We'd love to meet you!

Welcome to the page of Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society. At least once a year we perform a show, usually one of the famous operettas by W. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, at our local theatre, The Courtyard in Hereford. We also perform in concerts around the county, singing a variety of songs from the traditional G&S tunes to the more modern melodies from musicals that are currently at the West End, including favourites such as Wicked and Les Miserables. As a fun, friendly society, we are always looking for new members to join us to take part in performing in shows, singing in concerts, or helping out back-stage and beyond! If you are interested in coming along to Hereford G&S Society, drop us a line at [email protected]. We meet every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. Rehearsals are held at Hereford Cathedral School Music School, 31 Castle Street, Hereford. We are also keen to attract new patrons and sponsors to help us continue to bring Gilbert and Sullivan to Herefordshire and the Marches. If you are interested in supporting Hereford G&S Society please see Friends and Sponsors for more details.

What could £1000 do to kickstart your music and performing arts career?

Our star, Angelina, has shared her experience of being awarded the Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Society Youth Bursary for 2024 and 2025.

Here she discusses how the support with music and performing arts skills coupled with a warm and welcoming community helped her with pursuing her music course.

We are so very proud of her and all she is achieving and knew she was an amazing ambassador for our Youth Outreach.

We would love for you to join us and apply for the bursary. We have our rehearsals each Tuesday at 7.30 at The Music School on Castle Street in Hereford.

Auditions for our show are lined up ready for 6 October but it's not too late to apply for the bursary.

DM us here and come along to be a part of a lovely, long-standing community group and apply for the Bursary today!
