We aim to give young singers the best possible vocal training by teaching them various vocal skills and techniques, as well as listening skills, and confidence. Each term we choose a varied Repertoire to work on these vocal skills whilst providing a fun and inspiring singing experience. We tend to have a mix of classical pieces as well as well-known contemporary music. Juniors and Seniors have different repertoires, with some overlap. Additional benefits for Senior Choir Members:
Singing in the Senior Choir, and/or volunteering at Junior Choir sessions, can contribute to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme which many secondary school pupils participate in. Senior Choir Members are also invited to Vocal Workshops featuring experts in the education of music and singing. These free workshops are organised about 3 times a year by Henley Choral Society, which Henley Youth Choir is part of. Why we love to perform:
One of the highlights of each term is the end-of-term performance, which in previous years have consisted of performing at the Henley Choral Society's Christmas Concert, with with an audience of over 300 people, and performing at the Henley Festival's popular Family Day. How to join:
You can direct any further questions to Henley Youth Choir's Manager and Administrator Fi Harding (email: [email protected], phone: 07947 658252). Costs are £50 per term with the early bird discount.
