Grand Melodious Musical Evening featuring Kathakali and Live Orchestra !
SreeRaagam - Season 3.
Adwaita Arts in association with Hengrove Malayali Community - HMC and The Kala Chethena Kathakali Troupe, presents Sreeragam Season 3, an Indian classical music & arts festival, on Sunday, 1 March, 3–7 PM in Bristol.
The first Adwaya Award will be presented to Babu Abraham for his acclaimed autobiographical work “Kambili Kandathe Kalbharanikal” (Mathrubhumi Books). The G. Devarajan Award will also be presented to a selected Bristol singer.

The evening features:
• Classical dance by Aparna Pavithran & Narthaki Dance Academy.
• Violin concert by Shyam Balamurali with Timeless melodies Hindi , Tamil & Malayalam.
• Ghazal-inspired Malayalam film songs
• A musical tribute to legendery director Balachandra Menon’s 50 years in cinema.
• A superb landmark Kathakali presentation by Kalamandalam Vijayakumar incorporating the melodies of G Devarajan.

Kathakali history is made with a new story for Kathakali specially created, directed and performed by a master of Kathakali, Kalamandalam Vijayakumar, with over 50 years experience as an internationally renowned Kathakali actor.
This landmark 55 minute Kathakali presentation incorporates the immortal melodies of G. Devarajan, the poems of Vayalar and P Bhaskaran master, and classical Kathakali. For the first-ever, the adaptation of Malayalam film songs into Kathakali padams has been achieved. This innovative production is invented, directed, and performed by Kalamandalam Vijayakumar. Deeply affected by the horrific Pahalgam attack, he wanted to express his shock and grief through the only way he knew - Kathakali. The narrative “Onnu Chirikkoo, Orikkal Koodi” offers a powerful and moving storytelling experience for all.
