Fulking Village Hall

Fulking Village Hall Thanks to incredible generosity of our local community, we raised enough money to save Fulking Village Hall.

We are working hard with the church to complete the purchase and will update everyone in the Autumn 2026.

Morning everyone
On behalf of the Fulking Village Hall CIO trustees, we would like to provide an update regarding the purchase of the hall and chapel from the Mid Downland Parochial Church Council (PCC).

Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to complete the purchase, and our current negotiations have stalled.

We remain fully committed to resolving any outstanding issues so that we can get the process back on track and complete the purchase of the hall for the benefit of our community as soon as possible. To achieve this, we are currently reaching out directly to the PCC as well as to senior diocesan leadership.

The level of public support over the past 18 months has been incredible, clearly demonstrating just how much everyone values the hall and its vital role in our village. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported this journey so far. This includes our private donors, local business sponsors, the 300+ people who have attended our events, the Parish Council, and our wonderful army of volunteers who helped bring our community together to ensure we hit our fundraising target. All funds generously donated to the Village Hall CIO remain safely held in readiness for its purchase.

We remain entirely focused on completing the purchase so that we can continue organising events and activities for the benefit of our community for many years to come. Details of our upcoming events, including a MacMillan Coffee Morning, coming soon…

We will update everyone in the Autumn once we have further information, when we will also hold a public meeting to answer anyone's questions.

Thank you again for your continued patience and support. πŸ™

Warm regards,
The Trustees of the Fulking Village Hall CIO

What an incredible example of community spirit! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

28 volunteers working hard to make the day happen and over 200 people spread around the pitch at a sunny Preston Nomads Cricket Club who enjoyed a T20 fixture played between Sussex Cricket XI and Nomads XI to help raise funds for Fulking Village Hall! πŸ₯°

The Sussex XI was captained by John Simpson and guests were treated to some fine play from both Sussex Cricket and Nomads players. After some fine batting from Sussex players including Grant Flower and Sean Hunt, Nomad's Malorie Short slowed the game beautifully and took out both openers to restrict their total. In reply, after some good batting from Nick Greenwood, Jonty Jenner and Jaedyn Bartosh-Short, the Nomads ultimately ended up clinching the win much to the delight of the home crowd!πŸπŸ†πŸ˜

This event was far more than a game of cricket. It was about bringing our community together again to spend time with one another and have some fun. We are so grateful to everyone who came along and made it the day we hoped it would be for our wonderful community!!

A HUGE thank you to Nomads’ great barman Phil Brown as well as local resident Michael Finlay for being instrumental in getting the day together. Thank you to all the players from Nomads and Sussex Cricket who gave up their time to entertain us on the day.

Thank you also to our friends in Poynings for loaning us garden furniture and to South Downs Butchery for providing all the meat for the BBQ πŸ˜‹

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next social event!

πŸ“… Sunday 7 June | Sunday Social at Fulking Village Hall

Our next Sunday Social is on Sunday 7 June, 10am to midday, and this month we've got a little theme: the history of our village hall.

We'd love to spend the morning gathering photos, stories and memories of the hall over the years, to add to the website and contribute to the archive. If you've got an old snap, a clipping, a programme from a long-ago do, or simply a memory you'd like to share, please bring it along.

Not got anything to share? No problem at all. Just come for a cuppa, a slice of cake and a proper catch up with neighbours. All welcome.

Donations on the day go towards the upkeep of the hall.

We'd love to hear in the comments too: what's your favourite memory of the hall? β˜•πŸ°

Thank you to everyone who came to our Sunday Social Coffee Morning supporting The Marfan Trust and helped raise over Β£500 to help the charity continue to do their fantastic work and support for people in need. This event was run by local resident Tricia whose daughter was wonderfully supported by the charity.

Our next Coffee Mornings are 3rd May which is a Seedling Sunday Special - come and buy some seedlings for your flower beds and vegetable patch, with all funds raised helping our village hall arrange more events and activities for the local community.

After this, the dates are 2nd August and 6th September. Hope to see you there!!
