Billy's life was violently cut short in the early hours of 6th November 2011 in Hemel Hempstead whilst he was out enjoying a night out with his friends, he and his friends were targeted by a group looking for a fight. Billy's Dad, Paul Dove, Paul's fiancée Tanya and his sister Sally decided that no other family should endure what they have been through. So popular with everyone he touched. Billys Wish was set up in his memory, to raise awareness about the dangers of knife crime. The Billy's Wish Anti Knife Crime Education Programme was launched locally in the autumn of 2013. It is now being taught in schools across Hertfordshire and beyond, giving young people advice on how to stay safe, deal with peer pressure and offering alternatives to crime. Katharine Harper is the Education Officer for Billy's Wish, working closely with schools and youth groups. We are now exploring positive ideas, that the Trustees have, to help improve the quality of life for our children. Once this is fully up and running, attention will be turned to other positive ideas that the Trustees have to help improve the quality of life for our children.
