This page has been set up by the Bulwark bin brigade to provide a platform for residents to communicate their thoughts on the bin situation on both Bulwark and Albion road. The situation on the estate with litter is out of hand and most of this is caused by badly protected rubbish on bin day and the days surrounding this. We have been promised much needed wheelie bins for years and now that the time has come we have been provided with seagull sacks. The residents association has previously help supply these to residents but unfortunately they are not ideal. My understanding is that the council have deemed our estate in some way incompatible with wheelie bins although they will not answer my email questions about the reason for the sacks. I have walked this estate and although there are steps in some areas the majority of these areas also have a level access as well as the ramped step access. The houses also all have an area outside the front of the houses that is owned privately by each property so it is not a communal area. We are also not serviced by a small bin lorry. There is no valid reason to not have a wheelie bin. Residents have put forward valid points as to why sacks are not the best choice for us. Please feel free to put forward your views on this page and I will do my best to get it seen by the council. Photos below of both level access ramped access and front gardens throughout the estate but please feel free to post more. Please also add other residents the bigger our voice the better our chances.
