Play Area makeover by Helmsley Recreation Charity was nearly complete by early this Friday afternoon, all bar the zip wire (will update asap). New equipment thanks to grants from Helmsley Town Council (Sole Trustee) and The National Lottery Awards for All. The popular overhead rotator has a new top wheel. Baxtons Sprunt, Helmsley.
UPDATE: Zipwire ok and being used.

Helmsley Sports Club Pavilion this morning. It had a major refurbishment this year with grant funding from the town council and other funders.

The members and volunteers of Helmsley Sports ClubHelmsley Sports Club host this town event every year. The town council really appreciates their efforts and hard work to make this an enjoyable occasion - Helmsley Town Council pays for the fireworks. Please support if you can.

Helmsley Recreation Charity Play Area Consultation. If you like any of these multiplays please comment on council or charity page or email. Closing Date 16/11/25. The Charity will be applying for a grant. The Play Area is due to be returned to the Charity's care from Helmsley Sports Club. In Comments below there's another photo of the sort of things which probably need installing or repairing first - toddler swings and the zip wire are certainly being missed.

Lifeguards

We will need lifeguards.

As demand for more open air swimming increases and with the majority of our lifeguards being in education, every year we need new lifeguards.

Pickering Pool is running an NPLQ (national pool lifeguard qualification) course during February half term- details below. We can help financially with the cost of the course if required. If you have any questions for us - message us here or contact Ryedale Swim & Fitness Centre to book.
