Helensburgh Parish Church
Edward Jowle is a former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist whose roles for the company included the title role in their recent production of Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro'. With his accompanist Collin Shay, who, in addition to his work as a collaborative pianist enjoys a parallel career as a counter-tenor), he will present a varied programme based around Beethoven's great but rarely-performed song-cycle 'An die ferne Geliebte' ('To the distant beloved'), a set of six love poems revealing a more intimate side of the composer's genius.
The concert lasts one hour. Entry is free with an opportunity to give a donation as you leave.

The National Trust for Scotland is holding a public planning presentation in Helensburgh on Thursday 15 October as we develop proposals for The Hill House as part of Mackintosh Illuminated, made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The plans include the conservation and repair of The Hill House, proposals for the garden and a new Visitor Centre.

Come along to view the proposals, meet members of the project and design teams, ask questions and provide feedback on the plans ahead of a future planning application.
