As well as pollinators, many other creatures rely on leaf litter for protection. Butterflies, moths, wasps, ladybirds, spiders, snails, worms, beetles, millipedes and mites all live in leaves and in turn, some animals, birds and amphibians are reliant on them as food.
It's easy to see why leaves are really important to help sustain the natural web of life. If you must keep your lawn clear of leaves, try raking them into a pile in a corner but wait until temperatures have reached a minimum of 10°C for a week if you still want to remove them.
