🚒🔥 FIRE COVER REVIEW FINALLY RETURNS 🔥🚒

Remember the review into Scotland’s fire cover?

Remember packing the Victoria Halls?

Remember being told your views mattered?

📅 Due in 2025
📅 Delayed into 2026
🗳️ Scottish Parliament election comes and goes
📅 SFRS Board now due to decide on 22 June

Coincidence?

You decide.

Among the proposals is the downgrade of Helensburgh Fire Station to weekday daytime cover only. 😱

We’re told the on call system will fill the gap but it’s already strained and outdated. Freedom of Information request shows the on-call cover is low and is not coping

😡Many local people are not convinced.

😳Communities objected.

😬Staff objected.

🙄Campaigners objected.

🧑‍⚖️Strong evidence was presented.

🧑‍🚒Strong arguments were made.

🚒❌Yet the proposal remains on the table.

Now the Board will decide.

The questions many people are asking are simple:

❓Were local communities really heard?

❓Will the concerns raised by residents, firefighters and campaigners be reflected in the final decision?

👇 After all the delays, will local voices make a difference or be ignored?🚒🚒🚒

More children are cycling to school than ever before in Scotland. 🚲

New Hands Up Scotland Survey data shows cycling has reached its highest level since the survey began in 2008, while active travel remains the most common way for pupils to get to school.

Walking, wheeling, cycling, scootering and skating are great ways for children and young people to build physical activity into their day, supporting health, wellbeing and independence.

But with walking rates continuing to fall, there is still more to do to ensure every child can travel to school safely and confidently.
