โœจ Supporting Submariner Families โœจ

Yesterday, we were delighted to host a calming and restorative sound bath session for partners of our submariner community. These moments of stillness are invaluable for those navigating the unique pressures and uncertainties of military life.

One attendee shared:
โ€œItโ€™s really wonderful that the RNRMC are making this experience available to so many. Itโ€™s a special feeling being able to just take an hour for yourself during the chaos that comes with the demands of military life.โ€

Our thanks go to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust for their generous support in making this wellbeing activity possible.

At the RNRMC, we remain committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all Royal Navy and Royal Marines families. ๐Ÿ’™

Recently, the WESM branch gathered for its Annual Ian Molyneaux Dinner โ€“ a cherished tradition held in memory of Ian and in celebration of the camaraderie that defines the branch.

With Ianโ€™s wife, Gill, joining as the honoured guest, the evening was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and shared stories across all ranks and generations.

This year marked an important shift to Red Sea Rig, creating an inclusive atmosphere where every member โ€“ from Junior Rates to Officers and veterans โ€“ felt truly part of the occasion.

This event was made possible thanks to Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and The Submarine Family, whose grant ensured this proud tradition continues for years to come.

โ€œTheir support didnโ€™t just fund the dinner โ€“ it preserved a tradition, strengthened our community, and gave us a tangible symbol of unity.โ€

๐Ÿ’™ After months under the sea, a Vanguard-class submarine has finally returned home.

More than 200 family members lined Rhu Spit, waiting for the first glimpse of their loved ones. What followed was a day of anticipation, excitement, and emotion.

From activities for children provided by Albatross Arts, to support from RNFPS and Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, families were cared for during the long wait.

And thenโ€”those unforgettable moments. One by one, submariners appeared, greeted with whoops, cheers, and long-awaited hugs.

For submariner families, homecomings are powerful reminders of the sacrifices made during time apart, and the joy of being reunited. ๐Ÿ’™โš“

๐Ÿ–ค Black Tot Day โ€“ a day that marks the end of an era.
On 31 July 1970, the Royal Navy poured its final official rum ration, bringing a 300-year tradition to a close.
From morale booster to daily ritual, the tot was more than just a drink โ€” it was a part of Naval life.
Today, we raise a glass to the history and heritage of those who served at sea.
