Hi all, I put myself on the subscriber list for WYCA transport planning, very interesting email has just come through requesting input towards a new plan, as the current one agreed in 2017 is in need of a refresh....there's an online questionnaire and face to face panel in Halifax 3rd September. It would be fantastic if as many people could take part as possible. HRBF will be there!

We (the West Yorkshire Combined Authority) are working with the five West Yorkshire local authorities (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield) to renew the Mayor’s West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan. We are asking for your views on the vision and

Parking in Hebden Bridge can be… tricky. Our gorgeous steep valleys mean land is at premium, and while we encourage visitors to take public transport, walk, or cycle where they can, we know driving here is the only option for many people.

That’s why we’re in conversations with Calderdale Council and Hebden Royd Town Council to help develop a long-term parking strategy for the area.

Based on the ‘2022 Calderdale Visitor Economy Report’, we estimate that visitors using 50 car parking spaces contribute at least £4,000 a day to our economy, which adds up to £1.46 million over a year (💸).

We’re asking the councils to keep this in mind when making any plans to remove parking spaces without replacing them elsewhere.

If you’re a local business owner and want to keep up to date with the parking conversation, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter. The link is in the bio or you can email us [email protected]

And if you’re planning to visit Hebden Bridge soon, have a think about parking at either Todmorden or Mytholmroyd train station and getting the train for that last bit of the journey. Or even better, use public transport for the full route (if you can) 🌳

Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend 2024 3rd & 4th August 2024

The countdown is now on for the Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend which is 52 days away. Organised by the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge since 2007 and now 41 years since the show was first run in 1983.

The weekend features great entertainment for all the family including this year for the first time a children's funfair and at the heart of everything a display of classic and vintage automobiles. A full programme of live music will be available, please see the website for details and regular updates.

The same weekend will see the Steampunks back in town for the Hebden Bridge Steampunk Weekend, with their colourful and eclectic costumes throughout the town and in Calder Holmes Park.

On Saturday 3rd August classic vehicles post 1977 to 2003 are on display alongside kit cars, military vehicles, tractors, Rolls Royce and Bentleys and for the first time Supercars of any age.

On Sunday the 4th August the display changes to veteran and vintage cars up to 1931, post vintage cars 1932 to 1940 and post war cars 1941 to 1978 with American vehicles, military and commercial vehicles and once again Supercars of any age also included.

Can you help Hebden Bridge Open Studios

Hebden Bridge Open Studios need your help!

HBOS is run by an unpaid tiny group of volunteers.

We work 100s of hours to run HBOS events.

HBOS is not for profit. Here's what we do:
- 2 open studios a year for over 100 artists
- gain national, regional and local media coverage
- negotiate with local businesses to participate in our Art Window Trail
- negotiate & hang a free exhibition at the Town Hall
- negotiate & organise 2 Art Fairs for less local artists
- put together & distribute HBOS booklets, maps & flyers
- put together & hang HBOS posters, maps, banners & signs
- negotiate & hang signs / banners at local businesses and sites around town
- a hefty social media campaign

But, we're down to the wire.

We need help.

If you can volunteer, please get in touch.

Without extra hands, HBOS may not continue.
