We're a dedicated community of sheep breeders committed to the promotion and preservation of the Lonk sheep.

A very successful couple of shows for Nicola Dolan, with some excellent results at both Bucks County Show and Egham Show.

Bucks County Show – Rare Breed Class

🥇 Ewe lamb – 1st
🥈 Shearling ewe – 2nd
🥇 Ram lamb – 1st
🥈 Ram – 2nd

The ram lamb went on to take Reserve Champion, while the Group of Three also received Reserve Champion.

Egham Show

🥈 Aged ram – 2nd
🥉 Shearling ewe – 3rd
🥇 Ram lamb – 1st
🥈 Ewe lamb – 2nd

The ram lamb then went on to win the Hill & Heath Championship. 🏆

❗🐑IMPORTANT BLUETONGUE UPDATE – MEMBERS & BREEDERS, PLEASE READ ❗🐑

Following a committee meeting last night, a decision has been made to postpone the Breed Sale to Saturday 17th October at Clitheroe Auction Mart and to cancel Holme Show this year.

We hope the additional time before the Breed Sale will give vendors more opportunity to obtain the bluetongue vaccine and, where they wish to do so, have their rams’ semen tested.

Vaccination and semen testing are not compulsory prior to the sale, but both are recommended, particularly for those selling sheep from areas affected by bluetongue.

We are very sorry to have to cancel Holme Show this year. It is a great opportunity for members and breeders to get together, but given the current bluetongue situation, we feel the risk of disease transmission is too great and we do not want to contribute to the spread of the disease.

Thank you for your understanding — it’s certainly one of those years.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Breed Sale on Saturday 17th October.

“The Lonks were an incredible turn out at this year's Trawden Show! A massive thank you to all the exhibitors who brought these iconic local powerhouses forward—to say the turnout excelled our expectations would be a massive understatement, you completely blew us away. The quality in the pens was outstanding and the atmosphere around the ring was electric, proving exactly why the Lonk section is always such a crowd favourite. A special shout-out goes to our judge Chris Crowther for doing an absolutely cracking job of sorting through those impressive horns and lines, and to our superstar steward Angela Crowther for keeping everything running We can’t thank the Lonk community enough for turning out in such force and making the day a roaring success. We look forward to seeing you again next year.“
