⚠️ CLOUD & Reach4wrd Closes its Doors ⚠️
It’s with a heavy heart that the Reach4wrd Community Project and the Cloud Youth Project closes its doors.
It’s been an incredible 7 years since the inception of the project, borne out of there being a need for some grass roots community work within the upper valley.
We’ve hosted countless successful events including the annual Great Get Together‘s, created in the wake of the murder of the MP Jo Cox about bringing communities together and showing that we have more in common than that which divides us. The biggest community Christmas Day ever to be held in the Valley, two consecutive years running, and then a doorstep delivery Christmas Day service during the pandemic for those who were isolated and lonely. Several successful fundraising gigs at the Trades and other local venues, then the cooking workshops, embroidery workshops and of course the brilliant CLOUD youth project attended by over 70 local young people week after week engaging in DJ skills workshops, mental health workshops, music and dance, arts and crafts.
There’s so much more to be said about all the great things that have happened as part of the project, but unfortunately due to not being refunded, we are unable to continue.
Plus, the directors want a rest. Liz retired from her job almost 10 years ago and has given unwavering commitment to the Reach4wrd and CLOUD projects for 7 of those years; it simply wouldn’t have happened without her dedication.
Thank you to every single one of you who has supported us over the years, attended our events, the young people who brought the fun, all the volunteers, the DJs, the staff, the events organisers, the social media creators, the funders and everybody who was able to attend anything that we did, and enjoyed it.
All the best,
Kate, Liz and Jess
