Hello to all parents and toddlers, this was our set up at Dodnaze playgroup last time it was hot 🌞🔥
We are going to do the same again tomorrow. If anyone fancies joining us its 10:00-11:30am at the community centre. Primarily for aged 0-4, but all ages welcome. £2 per family, snacks included.

**Last minute call for volunteers**

Were open on Saturday, from 10am-3pm, serving free refreshments in collaboration with the woodmeadow day at High Hirst Woodmeadow Project and we need a couple more people to just help out during the day.
Please get in touch if you could help out during the following times:
10am-12, 12-2 or 1-3pm.

Meadows Day 2026 on Saturday 4th July will have lots of fun for all the family with Dodpod Holiday Club providing bushcraft and forest school activities at High Hirst play area!

Activities include:
🪢 Bushcraft 🪢
🏁 Hapazome flag making 🏁
🎨 Clay sculpting 🎨
🏃‍♀️‍➡️Assault course 🏃‍➡️
🎖️ Fun & games on the playing field 🎖️
🔍 Mini beast hunting 🔎

Hello everyone!

We will have our much needed clear up day on Thursday! We will focus on the outside space around the centre, clearing up the leaves and rubbish and clipping back the overgrown plants, then we will jetwash the patio, tidy it up a bit and get the unwanted stuff out of the garden.

If anyone has time to come and help please do! 🙏

Bring gloves and a packed lunch if you plan to stay for the whole day. There are plenty of jobs to do that are essential to maintain the community centre and also keep the estate looking tidy. We will meet at 10am, stop for a lunch break and keep going until around 3pm.

If anyone wants to help but can't make it we could organise small groups for the Friday or Saturday.

Hello lovely community.

We are getting ready for the growing season over at our community allotment. We have a plan to grow lots of the basic veggies: Carrots, onions, peas, leeks, salad and even corn if we can get it to grow.
If anyone is interested in growing some fruit and veg with us this year drop us a message! We are looking for more people to come along and help in the process and also enjoy the produce.
You'd be welcome to have a go at growing something you use a lot of, using the space as much as you want and taking home delicious home grown veggies.

Hello! 👋 each year we do a litter pick in the area. This year the council is doing a joint one for Hebden, which will include a group who will walk up birchcliffe and to our area.. please see routes here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1FDayzHs-ynlc2Na51UfiLn5O4xvpf_4&usp=sharing
This is a great opportunity to tidy up and get rid of all those nasty looking bits of rubbish that build up!
If you are unable to make it on Sunday we encourage people to go out in small groups and litter pick the estate and surrounding areas. Take gloves and bin bags, and if you don't have space in your bin, you can leave excess bags by the community centre bins. If you're interested in forming a small group and want to connect with others then feel free to get in touch!

We’re really looking forward to welcoming children back for some springtime adventures in the woods this Easter.

Think campfires, den building, crafts, outdoor play and plenty of space to breathe, explore and connect.
