Tz Rising took over the South Coast! 🌊 Michael and Katie ventured the Jurassic coast this weekend to prepare the Freedom Hike 2026 route 👌👌

It was STUNNING.

Michael hiked a very challenging 35km from Swanage to Osmington, first 10km from Swanage Inland was gorgeous and peaceful before reaching the hills of the dorset coast coming to Lulworth and Durdle Door.

That’s where the legs became tired and tested 😂😂 but views were breath taking and breaks of pasties and cake needed.

Day one is ready 🙌🏻

On Saturday Katie and and Michael relaxed at Durdle Door caravan park, Katie braved a swim! And the two rested and watched Hidden Figures 🎥 (End Racism!!)

Michael walked 20km from Osmington to Portesham and stopped earlier than expected due to a leg injury but actually Portesham might be a perfect finish because those 20km were not very difficult on tired legs 😂

Topping it all off with ice cream at Lyme Regis and sitting beside the sea soaking up the view after maxing out the legs fully.

Well done team 🥾

Two months to go until the Freedom Hike and yesterday was a big one 🌊☀️🍃

Winchelsea to Hastings, just under 22km with 656m of elevation. Beautiful, windy, and exactly the kind of climbing we need in preparation for June.

Next up: 2nd May, Surrey Three Peaks Challenge. We’ll see you there.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience and determination of the incredible young women supported by TZ Rising! 👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿

As most of us know already, education has the power to totally change lives and through the support of our community we are proud to have helped and watched many young girls become women over the last 10 years, while supporting them with school, college and university throughout the years.

We are continually inspired by their ambition and courage as they work hard every day to pursue their dreams. Investing in girls’ education is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting change and we also want to thank everyone who makes this possible for us to do. 🤍

The work is never done and we are always trying to do more. If you’d like to be a monthly doner, please click the link in our bio which will take you to our website. On Sunday 10th May we will be celebrating 10 years of TZ Rising by having our first ever exhibition showcasing our story throughout the 10 years. We will have art, food, drinks, live music, impact stories, workshop, raffle, auction and MORE- so please ensure to block out the 10th May in your diaries for our event, you won’t regret it. 🥳

As we gear up for our next training hike on 7th Feb, we thought we’d share some highlights from the first training hike.

We hiked Leighton Buzzard and Rushmere, kicking off the 2026 hiking season in the best way. Around 16km, great company, and a solid start as we prepare for our Freedom Hike in June.

FREEDOM HIKE WEEKEND 2026!

We are looking for at least 50 hikers this year to come and join us on our freedom hike weekend, where we will be hiking together along the Jurassic Coast on both Saturday and Sunday to raise money for women’s education in Tanzania. 🇹🇿

Have you been wanting to challenge yourself this year while also doing something good for others? Come and join us on our freedom hike weekend from 13-15th June! You can get out in nature, meet and connect with new people and meanwhile raise money for our girls.

Michael, Lesley and Tara spent this weekend trialing out the scenic route we will be walking for this years FREEDOM HIKE 👀 ✨ ⛰️

Please bear in mind we are in the beginning of January and look how beautiful these scenes are right now? And we will be going this in JUNE so you can hike beautiful scenes, raise money for our girls in Tanzania and get a tan! 😆 what’s more would you want? We are sooo excited to have some of you hike this route with us to raise funds for our girls for this years freedom hike! (Link is in our bio to sign up to this charity hike, more the merrier. Here is our 2026 hiking schedule ✨

Everyone is welcome to our hikes which are usually based on and around the London area! We have proposed that everyone who attends the hikes brings £3 so that we are contributing to helping our girls in Tanzania- which is our main aim! A bit of hiking, nature, community, laughs, wholesomeness- all while also helping our girls in TZ. 🇹🇿

We also love to build our community and the monthly hikes are the main way that we do this. We are also practicing for our big fundraiser freedom hike for our girls which takes place in June so if you wanted to come along to see if it’d be your vibe- please do join! 🤍 the more the merrier.

We wanted to share a post to congratulate all the students at TZ Rising Kindergarten in Tanzania who graduated last week. 8 of the children graduated!🤍

For those of you who don’t know, founded this kindergarten and named it “Tanzania Rising Kindergarten”- Inno and the teachers there are doing an amazing job, allowing these kids to learn at the school for free. 👏

Thank you Inno and everyone involved for all the work you do in Tanzania to allow education to be accessible to all 👊🏻👊🏿
