📢 Here are some important details you’ll need before you travel:
🕒 Depart Bramley Lawn at 9am
🕒 Depart Headingley at 9.30am (Kirkstall Lane outside the cricket club
📌 Drop off in Bridlington: South Cliff Road opposite South Cliff Gardens 📌
☀️Enjoy your day on arrival exploring Bridlington.
🍨The land of fish & chips, ice-creams and amusements 🎰
🚌 Return from Bridlington at 4pm
🏡 Expected arrival home: 6pm (approximate arrival time)

☝️ Some useful tips:
✅ Wear comfortable shoes 👟
✅ Weather-appropriate clothing (just in case!) 🧥
✅ Your camera for some stunning seaside shots 📸
✅ Spending money for treats and souvenirs 💰

🦉Owls were delighted and honoured to be part of Unity Day at Hyde Park!

Unity Day celebrates everything that makes Hyde Park such a vibrant and welcoming community. It highlights the many positive aspects of living, working and studying in the area, while showcasing the community's strength through voluntary involvement.

The event brings people together to celebrate Hyde Park's rich cultural diversity through art, music, performances and sport. It is also a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the skills, talents and unique character of local people, helping to strengthen community spirit and promote unity.

We had a fantastic day in the Owls Marquee, where there was plenty of fun with our ever-popular bingo. Lots of lucky winners took home some wonderfully quirky top-notch prizes, including a Fray Bentos "Match Day" Chicken Tikka Pie, a tins of prunes and Carnation Milk and even a jar of mussels! There was also live music, poetry, plenty of laughter and a wonderful sense of community throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Lee Ingham for being a fantastic host, Phil for doing a brilliant job as our bingo caller, and Richard, one of the event organisers, for all his hard work in helping to make the day such a great success.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, and we are already looking forward to next year's Unity Day! 💙🦉

Thank you to Councillor Hannan for visiting our OWLS allotment last week! The group loved meeting you, and really appreciate all of your support for their fantastic group!

It was a pleasure supporting Older Wise Local Seniors, OWLS at their Ash Road allotment in Headingley – seeing all the fresh fruit and vegetables growing here is truly wonderful. This space is about far more than produce; it is where skills are shared, friendships grow, and our community pulls together.

OWLS does so much more than tend the land too. They run brilliant activities that bring local residents together, helping everyone feel welcome, valued and never alone. I’m very proud to support this fantastic work, and grateful to everyone who makes it happen.

We had a brilliant time at Kirkstall Festival on Saturday. Our wonderful OWLS Craft Club were selling homemade jewellery. We played a couple of rounds of bingo, and we enjoyed letting people know about the great work we do at OWLS! Thanks to for giving us endless cups of tea!

Today our OWLS and BEA members enjoyed a wonderful trip out to Whitby!

Everyone had a lovely day exploring the town, taking in the beautiful seaside views, browsing the shops, and spending time together with friends. It was great to see so many smiles and to create more happy memories together.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our departure from Whitby was delayed by one hour. BEA & OWLS would sincerely like to apologise to our members and volunteers for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support throughout the delay.

We would also like to say a special thank you and express our sincere gratitude to Andy, our wonderful coach driver from JB Travel in Stanningley. Thank you, Andy, for going the extra mile and for helping to make our day in Whitby so memorable.

Thank you once again to our members, volunteers, staff and Andy for helping to make the trip such a memorable and enjoyable occasion. 😊

Our OWLS allotment group harvested their first early potatoes today, (thank you TCV Hollybush who we purchased them from on potato day) they'll be enjoying them for dinner today!

The allotment is flourishing at the moment, thanks to all of the members and volunteers for their hard work!'
