International Division II Class Association

International Division II Class Association Member of IWA. Class regroups D2 owners around the world and promotes the revival of the Division 2 boards throughout friendship, camaraderie and competition.

Following member requests, discussions, and discussed changes for ID2CA Class Rules, a number of changes to the class rules have been drawn up. You can find them on the IWA-ID2CA website:

https://internationalwindsurfing.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/ID2CA-2026-Amendments-to-Class-Rules-final-1.pdf

National Classes and race organizers who wish to apply these rules can do so easily by including them in the Notice of Race and in the Sailing Instructions. This adjustment allows for experimentation with new rules (try-out).
These rules will be put to a vote at the next AGM, after which they may or may not become a full part of the ID2CA class rules.

procedure:
to be included in Notice of Race (NoR) and Sailing Instructions (SI) in section ‘Rules’:
- The Class Rules of Division II Association (link) shall apply.
‘ID2CA 2026 – AMENDMENTS TO CLASS RULES.pdf’ (link) will also apply. This changes some ID2CA class rules in accordance with RRS 87.

A provisional version of the ID2CA calendar will be available in a few weeks. So keep an eye on this page.
We aim to offer competitions in as many countries as possible where our members want to sail with D2 boards. Any competition in which D2 boards participate can be included. Do you have an interesting event? Then please contact us.

We also have a new ranking system for 2026. The most important changes are:
⦁ Your 5 best results during the season count. Of course, you can participate in many more.
⦁ There are no restrictions on inclusion in the ID2CA ranking. A (too) small number of participants is never the fault of those who are present. They should therefore not be penalised by not recognising their results.
⦁ Separate scores for type A and type C.

The new ranking system can be consulted on our IWA website.
