💷 £26,000 per year, rising to £26,500 in April 2027
🕐 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday
🚗 55p per mile mileage paid

Do you enjoy working alongside people, finding practical solutions and helping people build confidence and independence?

As a Personalised Support Specialist, you will provide personalised, practical and strengths-based support to disabled people, people living with long-term health conditions and their carers across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Working across different service pathways, you will help people address immediate challenges, build confidence and maintain or improve their independence, wellbeing and resilience at home and within their community.

⚠️ This role does not provide personal care.

🚚 Same-day furniture moves to help prepare homes for hospital discharge

disAbility Cornwall & IoS want to hear from people with health conditions, disability or other access need as well as carers and families, who have experience of using the car parks since the move towards cashless payment this Autumn.

They are gathering evidence about how the changes are working in practice and, in particular, whether they are creating barriers or affecting people’s independence and ability to access local places and services.

They will use this feedback to provide Cornwall Council with current evidence about how the new arrangements are affecting disabled people and to identify where changes may be needed, to ensure parking is accessible and inclusive. 💙

📢 We need to hear from you: If you could redesign PIP, what would it look like?

disAbility Cornwall & IoS has been invited to give evidence to the Timms Review on Personal Independence Payment (PIP) as part of its national engagement with Disabled People’s Organisations.

We want to make sure the views we take into that discussion are informed by Disabled people, people with long-term health conditions, carers and others with direct experience of PIP across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

So, we need to hear from you.

If you could redesign PIP, what would it look like – and what should it achieve?

We’d particularly like to hear your thoughts on:

👉 What works – and what doesn’t – about PIP now?
👉 What needs to change about the application and assessment process?
👉 How could assessments better recognise fluctuating, invisible and long-term conditions?
👉 What would make the system fairer, more accessible and less stressful?
👉 What should PIP actually enable Disabled people to do?
👉 If you could change one thing about PIP, what would it be?

Your experiences, ideas and suggestions will help inform the evidence we give directly to members of the Review’s steering group.

The Review will use evidence from these sessions to help shape its recommendations ahead of its final report in the autumn.
